IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The maps below show the centre of a small town called Islip as it is now, and plans for its development.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The given picture illustrates the alterations in the heart of small city known as Islip nowadays and plans for future modifications.

Looking from an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that the residential area, public station and shopping complex would be develop in Islip town centre as well as duel-carriageway road would differentiate the area from countryside.

To commence with, now there are various shops in front of main road, which would be develop in bus station, shopping centre and car park and the road would leave for pedestrians only. Moreover in the opposite side of main road there are several small shops, which would remain at their same place.

Following this, the park space would be reduce due to the construction of new homes. School and housing which are in the southern side would remain stable and will link with dual carriageway road, which would make the area more convenient, the dual road turn like a round and would take all facilities under it.
