IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The maps below show the centre of a small town called Islip as it is now, and plans for its development.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The two maps illustrates the information pertaining to plan for development of a centre of a Islip.
overall, it is evident that according to the plan the amenities such as car park, bus station, shopping centre, and footpath is located in the centre of the town.
looking into more details, Islip has residential area in the southern part of town, with a school in south-west of the town. Moreover, a cark park is is located in south-east of the town center. furthermore, there is a main road which have shops beside it, and in the north of the map there is courtyside.
Additionally, in the planned development the shops situated in the center of the map which is replaced by bus station, shopping centre, car park and with new housing facilities. Meanwhile, southern shops are remained unchanged and main is replaced by footpath. In-addition, there is dual carriageway constructed beside the town and school and housing are remain same.
