Student answer (Band 4.0)
There are two diagramms showed Islap town before development and after development.there is a clear difference in both.
Before development as chart was planned now is totally different because there was a road all around this centre.Bus station, car park and shopping center were at one side opposite to shops .after its complition main road is in the centre and shops are in both sides of roads .There is no bus station ,car park and shopping centre.New housing and school was also inside the road now its outsede the road.In old plann there was a Dual carriageway, now its not present in Islip centre,Its missing.Only one thing that is same as it is in old developing plann is park which is on its own placeand attached to road.
In conclusion,as Islip developmental plann was shown,Its not constructed as.It is now totally changed and somethings missing in new structure
of Islip town after its contruction.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The student attempts to describe the changes shown in the maps, but the response contains severe factual inaccuracies regarding the visual data. Specifically, the student confuses the 'now' map with the 'planned development' map, stating incorrectly that the dual carriageway and bus station were present before development and are now missing. Furthermore, the description of the layout is heavily inverted, describing the current layout as the future plan and vice versa. While there is an overview attempt, the severe misinterpretation of the visual information prevents the response from fully addressing the prompt accurately, placing it at a Band 4.0 level for Task Achievement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.5
The response is divided into three brief paragraphs, including an introduction and a conclusion. However, the logical progression is weak and confused due to the inverted understanding of the maps. Cohesive devices are minimal and sometimes inaccurate, such as abrupt shifts using 'Before development as chart was planned now is totally different...' Referencing is also confusing, making it difficult for the reader to follow which time period is being discussed. Paragraphing is present, but overall structural cohesion is lacking, aligning with Band 4.5 descriptors.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
The vocabulary used is very basic and repetitive, with frequent misspellings and incorrect word forms such as 'diagramms', 'showed', 'Islap', 'complition', 'outsede', 'plann', and 'contruction'. There is little evidence of less common lexical items, and the misuse of technical map terms ('Dual carriageway', 'bus station') indicates a limited range of vocabulary that struggles to adequately discuss the prompt. Meaning is occasionally strained by these lexical inadequacies, resulting in a Band 4.0 score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The grammatical structures attempted are largely simple, with frequent errors in basic sentence formation, punctuation, and capitalization. Examples include run-on sentences and fragments like 'There are two diagramms showed Islap town...' and 'In conclusion,as Islip developmental plann was shown,Its not constructed as.' Complex structures are rare and consistently inaccurate. Errors occur throughout the text and frequently impede communication, reflecting the descriptors for Band 4.0.
