IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The maps below show the centre of a small town called Islip as it is now, and plans for its development.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
Maps illustrates downtown of Islip presently and after all the developemntal works end. The improvements are going to connect the whole town along with that, it will increase the living standard of locals through building local carriageway.
The current town centre is disconnected with poor infrastructure. Only one road is avalible for transportation, even to access basic facilities such as school or park. The school currently sits at south with fragmented housing but after the development the school will be connected with all housing schemes through a dual carriageway. The town lacks shopping centre, local transpot along with a pedestrian way that are going to be added into new infrastructures. Two new housing schemes would be added towards the north east and south-east to improve housing standards among the citizens of Islip.In new developmental pogram the park area would be reduced giving space to a new hosuing society. This all will result in, modernization of the towns infrastructure.
