IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The maps below show the centre of a small town called Islip as it is now, and plans for its development.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
The two maps of the centre of a towns of islip gives information about present view and future prediction.
Overall, the town centre got several changes in future. Where the size of the park got decreased and the new road will constructed in new shape by demolishing the countryside.
In the present map, the main road is directly connected to the shops, a park, a school. On the northern side of the main road, the shops and countryside are available but on the other side of the road shops and housing was available.
Looking at the detail, the future plan entrance to the town centre having a dual carriageway. Where the main road is replaced with entry for pedestrians only. The shops on the northern side of the main road is replaced with a bus station, a shopping centre, a car park and a new housing. Where park and school remains unchanged.
