Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

The response attempts to address the task by mentioning features from the maps, such as the shopping centre, car park, bus station, and dual carriageway. However, the communication is minimal and tangential in places, with personal commentary taking the place of objective reporting ("the development plan was amazing like its working on proper map"). The overview is missing, and the description fails to systematically report the main features and make clear comparisons as instructed. Ideas are limited and repetitive, resulting in a partial and underdeveloped response to the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The information and ideas are not arranged coherently. The text lacks logical progression and a clear overall structure, moving abruptly between observations about the current map and the planned developments without clear transitions. Paragraphing is absent, as the entire response is presented as a single dense block of text. Furthermore, the use of cohesive devices is highly inadequate and confusing, with run-on sentences and weak transitional phrases like "However, before" and "The main thing it is very" that fail to guide the reader through the comparison.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, relying heavily on simple words and phrases such as "town centre", "shops", "housing", and "map". There are noticeable errors in word choice, word formation, and spelling, such as "deveploment", "Dual carriagaway", and "avaible". Attempts to use less common vocabulary are unsuccessful and awkward, such as calling the plans "extraordinary and looking amazing". These lexical limitations and errors strain the reader and impede clear communication throughout the response.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The writing demonstrates a very limited range of sentence structures, consisting mostly of poorly constructed simple and run-on sentences. There are frequent, heavy grammatical errors, including missing articles ("The map illustrate the current layout of centre and Islip"), incorrect verb tenses and forms ("now having countryside", "Lots of changing were happened"), and faulty punctuation. Complex structures are attempted clumsily, and the frequency of errors causes significant difficulty for the reader in parsing the meaning of the sentences.
