Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the broad direction of change, especially the replacement of northern uses and the introduction of a pedestrian-only central street and a surrounding dual carriageway. However, some details are inaccurate or unclear: the southern shops remain, rather than being “central shops,” and the plan does not show a car park being reduced from its current size; the new car park is in the north. The school is shown as remaining in place outside the loop, not being adapted to the road. The overview mentions major northern changes but does not clearly summarise the overall reorganisation, including the retained southern shops and the new housing and smaller park. More precise comparisons would make the main features clearer.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an opening overview followed by paragraphs describing the northern and southern areas. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with” and “Regarding the south part” help signal the shift in focus, and the main points can generally be followed. However, the progression is weakened by unclear references and compressed comparisons. For example, “the central shops which will remain unchanged” does not clearly identify the southern row, while “the space of car parking will be reduced comparably to the current one” is difficult to connect to the map. The final sentence also combines the school’s location and its supposed adaptation without a clear relationship. Grouping changes by location and using more explicit references would improve cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant map vocabulary, including “countryside,” “pedestrians only,” “surrounded,” and “housing,” and the reader can understand the general topic. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “transformations” and “reserved.” However, several word-choice and spelling problems reduce precision: “futur transformations” and “modfication” are misspelled, “carriageaway” is inaccurate, and “the core city” is an awkward description of the town centre. Some collocations are also unnatural, including “the plan construction of the school” and “the space of car parking.” Use standard planning terms and check spelling and collocation so that descriptions of locations and changes are exact.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The response includes both simple statements and attempts at longer structures, such as “Overall, Major changes will took place…” and the sentence beginning “To begin with.” The intended meaning is usually recoverable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity. In the overview, “will took place” combines incompatible verb forms; use “will take place.” The phrase “new housing is programmed to be in the northeast” has an awkward passive construction, and “the site will still unaltered” is missing a verb (“will remain unaltered”). There are also punctuation and sentence-boundary issues, including the missing space after “with,” and inconsistent capitalisation after “Overall.” More accurate future forms and complete clauses would strengthen control.
