Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify several relevant features, including the school, park, shops, main road, bus station and shopping centre, and you recognise that the second map shows planned development. However, the account is only a partial summary: it does not clearly compare the two maps or give a reliable overview of the main changes. For example, “Every thing changed” is too general, and the planned pedestrian-only street and dual-carriageway loop are not explained accurately. Some locations are also misreported: the new housing is not simply in the north corner, and the southern shops remain. To improve, state the major changes in an overview, then describe the northern and southern areas with clear before-and-after comparisons.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is a basic attempt to separate the present map from the planned map, using “In the second map” to signal a shift, and some details are grouped by location. However, progression within the paragraphs is difficult to follow because features are listed without a clear organising principle. Connectors such as “Moreover,” “Although” and “Mean while” are sometimes used inaccurately or do not show a logical relationship; for instance, “Although it is well establish map but” combines contrasting linkers without a clear contrast. The repeated “there is” also makes the description feel like a list. Organise the response into an overview and then focused comparisons, using location-based sequencing and simpler, more accurate linking.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The response uses a small set of relevant map terms, such as “school,” “park,” “housing,” “bus station” and “main road,” so the reader can identify some of the features being described. However, vocabulary is basic and repetitive, and frequent spelling and word-choice errors strain understanding. Examples include “evedict,” “devolped,” “cnter,” “shipping center” and “pedesteian point”; the intended terms are not always immediately clear. “Fully developed town” and “main big road” are also imprecise descriptions of the plan. Build a more accurate set of map vocabulary, including “dual carriageway,” “pedestrian-only street,” “shopping centre” and “new housing,” and use verbs such as “replaced,” “retained” and “expanded” to describe changes.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt some longer sentence forms, including “Although there is a park…” and “Although it is well establish map but…,” but most sentences rely on simple “there is” constructions, and the longer attempts are not controlled. Errors in sentence structure and agreement occur frequently, as in “This maps shows” and “there are shops in the cnter,” while “there is a housing” shows difficulty with articles and countability. Verb forms are also inaccurate in “it is well establish map,” and punctuation includes repeated full stops and inconsistent sentence boundaries. These problems sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add controlled clauses to compare locations and changes.
