Student answer (Band 6.0)
The digram represent the comparision in the center of the city named Islip in it's current layout and future prediction.
Overall, huge changes are being noticed in the town. New plan is according to modern requirment and in systematic order. Moreover, new house, shoping center, Bus station and car parking will be add.
Firstly, a present whole layout of the centre is very simple. Main road is moving from east to west from the midel of the town which have shops on it's both sides. Along with that at the south end residencial area is situated which have School on left and Park in opposite side and both have connectivity with main road.
On the other hand, In the development plan a new dubal carriageway in a circular form would be created which is connect with main road. In the midle of that cirle there will be shops which are excessable only by pedestrians. Moreover, in northwest corner Bus station would be constructed and in adjancent to that shopping center and car parking and on northeast side new housing space would be provided with connectivity on ringroad. A side from that in South more residencial area would be provided which have park at the right side and school at the southwest side.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the main contrast between the current town centre and the proposed redevelopment, and you include several important changes: the pedestrian-only central street, the new bus station, shopping centre, car park and housing. However, some details are inaccurate or unclear. The plan shows the dual carriageway looping around the centre and connecting to roads at both ends, rather than simply connecting to the main road. The school remains outside the loop to the south; it is not newly placed at the southwest, and the park is reduced in size. Your overview says the plan is more systematic and modern, but a stronger overview would summarise the key spatial changes, especially the replacement of northern shops and the new road loop. Some features, such as the retained southern shops, are also omitted.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, an overview, a description of the present layout and a paragraph on the proposed plan. Sequencing the two maps in this way helps the reader follow the comparison, and transitions such as “Firstly” and “On the other hand” signal the shift between stages. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent overall arrangement and shows some of the flexibility associated with stronger cohesion. However, several links are mechanical or imprecise: “Along with that” and “A side from that” do not clearly express the relationships between features. The long final paragraph also packs many locations together. Use clearer spatial links such as “north of,” “to the east of” and “while,” and group related changes into shorter sentences.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant map vocabulary, including “main road,” “residential area,” “pedestrians,” “connectivity” and “circular form,” so the reader can understand the general changes. There are also attempts at more specific terms, such as “dual carriageway.” However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, including “digram,” “comparision,” “dubal,” “excessable” and “adjancent.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise: “new plan is according to modern requirment” and “new housing space would be provided.” These errors reduce precision, even though the main message remains understandable. Build accuracy with standard map collocations such as “is located,” “is replaced by” and “a loop road,” and check spelling carefully before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses with “which” and “where,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, errors in sentence structure and grammatical forms are frequent enough to make some descriptions awkward. For example, “Main road is moving … which have shops” needs an article and a correctly matched verb; “would be created which is connect” mixes verb forms; and “both have connectivity” does not clearly express the intended relationship. There are also problems with articles, agreement and tense, as in “new house … will be add” and “a present whole layout.” Practise accurate passive forms for planned changes (“will be built”) and check subject–verb agreement and articles. Shorter, controlled sentences would improve clarity.
