Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowaday advertising is very common to attract the customers. Advertising business main focous is on making their product unique. In this competetive world this is very diffcult task to sell your products. In my view it a positive development.

To start with, in this modern world there is very tough competition for almost everything, so business urge to create something unique and different. Othervise the exitence of the product will be demolish. It is very difficult to attract customer so advertising is most important part in selling. As a result companies are working on their products and adding new features in their exiting products. There is alot of brands selling cloths which is basic need for everybody but people have many choices between brands. So at this point people attracted towards good advertising and high quality products. Customer don't compromise on the quality of product. Companies need to create demand and seller need to convence the customers that there product is new and worth to buy. This also help to stable the ecomomy of country and unemployment remove. For example, the apple commpany is the leading company. It release new model almost every year with unique and different features that convence the people to buy it.

To conclude, advertising business main concern in making their product unique and different and that is a positive development for both customers and company as they launch new product or adding features on their product company remain in maket. And customers are waiting for their launch.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the question: you explain that businesses highlight novelty to stand out in competition and give a clear view that this is positive. The Apple example supports your point about new features encouraging purchases. However, the reasons are not developed evenly. The discussion of competition is relevant, but claims that this practice “stable[s] the economy” and removes unemployment are asserted rather than explained, and the customer benefits are mostly reduced to quality and choice. To strengthen the response, explain more precisely how emphasising newness benefits consumers or businesses, and acknowledge a possible drawback before justifying your overall positive position.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable introduction, a developed body paragraph and a conclusion, and the ideas generally follow a sensible order from competition to advertising and the Apple example. Linking phrases such as “To start with,” “As a result” and “For example” help show these relationships. However, the body paragraph contains several different claims—product quality, customer choice, employment and economic stability—without clear transitions or enough explanation, so progression becomes difficult to follow. The conclusion also repeats the introduction rather than drawing together the main reasons. Use clearer paragraphing for distinct points and make references such as “this” or “that” explicitly identify the idea being discussed.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “competition,” “unique,” “features,” “quality” and “demand,” and the reader can generally understand your main points. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make the writing less precise, such as “focous,” “exiting products” and “convence.” Some combinations are also unnatural, including “advertising business main concern” and “remain in maket.” Aim to learn accurate collocations for business and consumer topics, and check spelling carefully. More precise alternatives would help you express ideas such as companies differentiating products and persuading consumers that a launch offers genuine value.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a cause-and-effect structure beginning “As a result” and a sentence explaining the Apple example. However, control is inconsistent, particularly with articles, agreement and verb forms. For example, “business urge” needs a plural subject or a singular verb, “people attracted” is missing a verb, and “This also help” has incorrect subject–verb agreement. The final sentence, “customers are waiting for their launch,” also has an unclear reference. These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas harder to understand. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb, correct agreement, and complete clauses, while retaining your attempts at complex sentences.
