Student answer (Band 5.0)
It is an undeniable fact that nowadays in advertising most businesses emphasise their products are new in some way. Some might considered it wrong but i consider it to be positive not only because of getting new customers but also because of popularity of their products. Hence, these statements are enough to outline any drawback.
There are multiple benefits of this advancement. But the major benefit of this development is getting new customers because in the advertising they would get a lot of clients. For instance, if they advertise their products online they get a lot of comments and then people would have curiosity to get the products. Although, this benefit could outshadow ant disadvantage.
Therefore, another major merit of this advancement is popularity of the product because advertisng make the product well known and everyone knew about the product. For example, if a person did'nt knew bout this product before and becuase of this advertisement he would know about product very well. Hence, this benefit can disclose any drawback.
Although, the only drawback i can relate with this advancemet is we don't know about the product is it new old. But this problem can be compensate if the bussinesses show the good and new thing and avoid from frauding.
In conclusion, people have different opinions about this development but in my point of view that is a positive development for those who started new busiiness and did'nt have any experience or don't have any customer. So, in my opinion that's a positive development.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You give a clear overall opinion that emphasising novelty is positive, and you identify two relevant reasons: attracting customers and increasing product awareness. However, the task asks both why businesses do this and whether it is positive or negative, and the explanation of businesses’ motives remains limited. The examples mainly repeat that advertising attracts attention or makes a product known, rather than showing how novelty persuades consumers or helps a business compete. Your drawback—that customers may not know whether a product is genuinely new—is relevant, but the response does not explain its consequences clearly. Develop each reason with a specific example and explain how it supports your position; also make the final claim about new businesses more directly connected to the earlier points.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for benefits and a drawback, and a conclusion. This helps the reader follow the broad direction of your argument. However, progression within paragraphs is limited: the two benefit paragraphs make very similar points about gaining attention and popularity, and the conclusion largely repeats the introduction. Linking expressions such as “Therefore,” “Hence,” and “Although” are used repeatedly, sometimes without showing a clear logical relationship; for example, “Hence, these statements are enough to outline any drawback” does not clearly connect to the preceding claim. Use fewer formulaic transitions, make each paragraph develop a distinct point, and use clear references to connect examples to the claims they support.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “advertising,” “customers,” “popularity,” and “drawback,” and you attempt more formal expressions such as “major benefit” and “positive development.” However, the range is limited and several phrases are inaccurate or awkward, which can make the intended meaning less clear. Examples include “outshadow ant disadvantage,” “disclose any drawback,” and “avoid from frauding.” There are also noticeable spelling errors, such as “advertisng,” “advancemet,” and “busiiness.” Aim for precise, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. Repeating “advancement,” “benefit,” and “product” also makes the vocabulary feel less varied; use suitable alternatives only where their meaning fits.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some complex sentences, including clauses beginning with “because” and “although,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and errors occur frequently in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “Some might considered it wrong” should use the base verb after “might,” while “everyone knew about the product” does not maintain the intended present-time meaning. In “a person did'nt knew,” the auxiliary and main verb form are also incompatible. Capitalisation of “I” and punctuation around clauses need attention. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses while checking subject–verb agreement and verb tense.
