Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this essay i will discuss that comapanies in their advertising usually emphasise that their products are different from others. Is it a positive or negative development and in the end i will give my opinion.

To begin with, Nowadays advertising pays a big roll in companies success or selling their products not only on televison but now on social media as well.Where every company is proving that their product is new in some way or better than other. It happens because of the increase of compatition in almost every business. It has some positive and negative developments like some companies on social media are fooling people by selling skin care products of clothes when people order something from them they send them a fake product or scam their money sometimes they send you a different shirt or pant you ordered .

Moreover, If we talk about its positive development that it has made life easy fror people who are getting related to their upcoming purchases but people should check their profile and verify if they are real by their reviews. The compatition has made companies to work on their products insted of selling cheap copies or harmful chemicals. Now even there are too many apps have been launched by companies in past few months. It has given them a big audience because of their advertisement and marketing on every platform.

In conclusion, I believe that advertising has more positive than negative developments. Now there are no such as scams because people buy things from authorised companies by checking reviews on their websites or social media advertising accounts.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both questions: you suggest that competition motivates businesses to promote new or improved products, and you give a clear overall view that the development is more positive. The points about misleading online sellers and competition encouraging companies to improve products are relevant. However, the reasons for emphasising novelty are only briefly explained, and the examples focus mainly on scams rather than showing how advertising a product as new benefits consumers or businesses. Your conclusion also says there are “no such as scams,” which conflicts with the earlier warning that people are sometimes deceived. Develop each main reason with a specific example and make your final position consistent with the discussion to address the task more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Paragraphing broadly separates the discussion of negative and positive effects, and signposts such as “To begin with,” “Moreover” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the intended stages. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the first body paragraph moves from advertising’s reach to competition and then to scams without explaining the links between these points. Some transitions are mechanical, and the opening promises an opinion “in the end” rather than presenting a clear position directly. The conclusion’s claim that scams no longer occur also does not connect logically with the earlier examples. Organise each paragraph around one main idea and use clearer references and links between supporting details.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “competition,” “advertisement and marketing,” “authorised companies” and “harmful chemicals.” These choices make the general subject understandable. However, the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or awkward, such as “a big roll in companies success,” “proving that their product is new,” and “positive than negative developments.” Spelling errors, including “comapatition,” “televison” and “insted,” are also noticeable and reduce the accuracy of the writing. Aim for more precise collocations and check spelling carefully. For example, describe companies as “highlighting a product’s novelty” and say that competition “encourages product innovation,” rather than relying on broad or incorrectly formed phrases.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including a conditional structure in “when people order something from them they send them a fake product.” However, complex sentences are often poorly controlled, and frequent errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. For example, “Where every company is proving…” is a sentence fragment, while “Now there are too many apps have been launched” combines incompatible verb structures. There are also recurring problems with articles, agreement and punctuation, as in “companies success” and the run-on sentence beginning “To begin with, Nowadays…”. Practise building complete sentences with one clear main clause, then add subordinate clauses accurately. Review apostrophes, verb forms and sentence boundaries during proofreading.
