Student answer (Band 6.0)

The growing tendency of businesses to emphasise the novelty of their products in advertisements has become increasingly common. This is mainly because businesses get more attention from the audience and also help them to target more audience those who show intersest in new products. I believe this is a largely positive development because it provide significant advantages for the businesses owners to attract more audience with better product description and provide essential knowledge to the customers.

There are several reasons why businesses highlight the newness of their products. The primary reason is that they want to create differentiation from other competitors and also to provide more information about the upgraded technology in their product. This is because new product and technology sometime create curiosity among them, which directly increase the sales the company. For example if the organization is providing a new product compares to the existing marketing which will surely stand in the market, In Pakistan there was a product related to insect killer and it standout just because of strong advertising and product was relatively new . Furthermore it create a positive market competition among businesses. Consequently, it results in increasing sales, newer product development and positive market competition.

In my view, this is largely a positive development because it help the real product to stand in market to gain more profit also it help businesses to introduce product in more efficient marketing way . This is mainly due to the increasing amount of fake products. For instance, it encourage innovation in product technology and also improve the quality of them . As a result, businesses will work more on their product quality, innovation and build customer trust with the help of marketing. I believe this a positive development because it provide neumours advantages for the businesses with real product with new designs and features.

In conclusion, businesses emphasise new products mainly to to introduce new product innovation and attract more audience . I consider this a positive development because it help businesses to retain more customers. Moreover it provide better information about the product to customers and help build understanding to take decision whether to buy or not .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the question: you give reasons for highlighting novelty, such as attracting attention, differentiating products and creating curiosity, and you clearly state that you see this as positive. The example of the insect-killer product in Pakistan also helps make the discussion more specific. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For instance, the link between advertising newness and reducing the impact of fake products is not made clear, and the example does not show precisely how the product’s novelty affected customers or sales. Develop each main reason with a clearer explanation or a more detailed example, and distinguish more carefully between the benefits of innovation and the effects of advertising it.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The main ideas are generally grouped by purpose, and signposts such as “The primary reason,” “Furthermore” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the argument. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. In the first body paragraph, the example beginning “For example if the organization…” is difficult to follow, and the sentence about positive market competition repeats an idea already mentioned. References such as “it” in “it help the real product” are also not always clear. Improve progression by giving each paragraph a distinct focus, linking examples directly to the claim they support, and using pronouns only when their reference is unmistakable.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of vocabulary for the topic, including “novelty,” “differentiation,” “upgraded technology,” “innovation” and “customer trust.” These choices show an attempt to discuss marketing and product development beyond basic terms. However, inaccurate word choice, collocation and spelling reduce precision: “target more audience,” “stand in the market,” “interst,” “standout” and “neumours” are examples. Some wording is also repetitive, particularly “more audience” and “positive development.” Aim for natural combinations such as “reach a wider audience,” “stand out in the market” and “numerous benefits.” Proofread spelling and choose precise expressions so that your ideas sound clear and idiomatic.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including explanations with “because” and result clauses introduced by “Consequently” and “As a result.” This gives the response some structural variety, and the overall meaning is usually understandable. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with subject–verb agreement, articles, plurals and sentence boundaries. For example, “it provide” should be “it provides,” while “new product and technology sometime create” needs plural agreement and an adverb form. The long example beginning “For example if…” also needs clearer punctuation and sentence structure. Review agreement and article use, and break long sentences into controlled clauses; this will make your argument easier to read while preserving complex structures.
