Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays various campanies try to prove that their products are unique from that of others by their advertisments. I think it is a positive development as it attracts customers and bring economic success.

The main advantage of uniqueness of products is that it is liked by a wide range of customers. Buyers always tend to purchase something which is unique from others. It gives them a sense of satisfaction as it has new feasures and they think that these products have more benefits. For example, soap with the scent of roses are available in the market. If a soap company launce a new soap with different scent such as lemon and it has the ability to remove dirk spot faster than other available soaps. The company will focus on these new features in their advertising and people will prefere to buy this unique lemon soap beacuse of its scent and faster outcomes.

This type of approach brings economic success to the companies. The more they try to emphasise of their products' unique characters the more their sales increase. The more the sales the more the revenue and the more the production. This is how a business can grow rapidly through economic benefits which is possible by advertising with the mentioned strategie.

From my perspective, it can be called negative development if the products do not have the features that are promoting in the advertisments. That can lead to decline in the economic growth as well as the trust of consumers could be lost.

In conclusion, Promotion with authentic uniqueness is a positive development because people are tend to buy new featured products and that will bring economic growth.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the question: you explain why businesses highlight novelty, and you state that this is positive when the claims are genuine. The soap example makes the customer-attraction point concrete, while the final paragraph recognises the risk of misleading advertising. However, the reasons for this advertising trend are not fully explored: the response focuses mainly on customers liking distinctive products and the resulting sales, rather than explaining other possible motives such as standing out in a competitive market. The economic argument is also asserted more than demonstrated, and the negative qualification could be developed with a clearer consequence or example. Extending these ideas and linking them more directly to the question would make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the main benefits and a qualification, and a conclusion that restates your position. The progression from customer interest to company revenue is understandable, and phrases such as “For example” help signal support. Some connections, however, are mechanical or unclear. The repeated “The more … the more …” construction makes the economic paragraph sound formulaic, and “This type of approach” does not identify the approach as precisely as it could. The final paragraph’s shift to the negative case is relevant but brief. Use a wider range of linking expressions and make references explicit so that each paragraph develops smoothly from the previous one.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use vocabulary relevant to advertising and commerce, including “unique,” “features,” “sales,” “revenue,” and “economic growth,” and the soap example gives you opportunities to describe product qualities. There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “sense of satisfaction” and “authentic uniqueness.” However, spelling errors are noticeable, including “campanies,” “advertisments,” “feasures,” and “prefere,” and some word combinations are unnatural: “unique from others,” “emphasise of their products,” and “unique characters.” These do not prevent the reader from understanding the main points, but they reduce precision and control. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning natural collocations, such as “different from competitors” and “highlight a product’s distinctive features.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use both simple statements and more complex forms, including a conditional idea in “if the products do not have the features” and a relative clause in “which is possible by advertising.” Most of the argument remains understandable, but some grammatical errors occur in agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “it attracts customers and bring economic success” needs a consistent subject–verb form, while “soap with the scent of roses are available” has a singular/plural mismatch. The sentence beginning “If a soap company…” is not completed as a conditional structure, and “people are tend to buy” is not grammatically formed. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and finite verb, and vary complex structures while keeping their clauses complete.
