Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, businesses are focusing in their branding that the ingredients in their products are different and new in some way from other products selling in the market. Because they want to tell the customers that their products are unique. As far as i m concerned it is a positive development because people want something new or different and also they focus on organic things.
On the one hand, individuals wants something that is new or appealing. People also want to try something different apart from their regular routine. This is because, there is something in a human nature that encourage to try something new or different. For example, if a brand is advertising some product in a new or a different way then most of the people attract towards that product also the packaging plays an important role in this. Therefore advertising that their product is different from the others in the market is very important.
On the other hand, now most of the people are concerned with the ingredients of a products. For instance, If it is a food product then they notice is it organic or not? If it is a skincare product then they mostly concern about is it dermatological tested or not? This is because people are well aware of the consequences of harsh chemicals and they are more concern about their health so if a brand or a business is keep focusing on how their products are different from the products that are similar with them. It means they are distinguish themselves from other brands.
In conclusion, people attract the things that are very appealing. Because of awareness, Individuals also want healthy products so focus on telling the products are unique is most important.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the question: you explain that businesses highlight novelty to attract customers and distinguish their products, and you state that you see this as positive because consumers seek appealing and healthier options. The examples about food being organic and skincare being tested help make the discussion relevant. However, the reasons are not developed equally. The point about people wanting something different is repeated, while the health-related point is asserted rather than showing how advertising novelty benefits consumers or where it might mislead them. A clearer explanation of why businesses adopt this strategy—for example, to stand out in a competitive market or encourage purchases—would answer the first part more fully. Your position is clear, but fuller explanation and support would strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting related points, and a conclusion. The progression from consumer interest in novelty to concern about ingredients is generally easy to follow, and examples are placed alongside the ideas they illustrate. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. The opening fragment beginning “Because they want to tell the customers” does not connect smoothly to the preceding sentence, and repeated transitions such as “This is because” make the reasoning feel formulaic. The conclusion also repeats the main points without drawing them together. Use clearer links between claims and explanations, and make each paragraph develop one distinct reason in a more deliberate sequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “ingredients,” “organic,” “packaging,” “harsh chemicals,” and “distinguish themselves.” These terms help you discuss both product appeal and consumer health. However, several phrases are imprecise or unnatural, such as “focusing in their branding,” “people attract towards that product,” and “concern about the ingredients of a products.” The repeated use of “new,” “different,” and “product” also limits variety. Aim for more accurate collocations and a broader set of terms for the business strategy, such as “highlighting innovation,” “differentiate their brand,” or “appeal to consumers.” This would make the argument more precise and fluent without changing its meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “If it is a food product…” and explanations introduced by “because.” The overall meaning is usually understandable, but some errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction remain. For example, “individuals wants” should use a plural verb, while “there is something in a human nature that encourage” needs agreement and a more accurate article pattern. The opening “Because they want…” is a sentence fragment, and “if a brand or a business is keep focusing” combines verb forms incorrectly. Review subject–verb agreement and practise building complete sentences with one clear main clause; this will improve accuracy while preserving your attempts at complex structures.
