Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response is significantly under the 250-word minimum requirement, which severely limits your ability to develop your ideas. While you introduce the topic and mention that there are positive and negative effects, the essay is incomplete and cuts off mid-sentence. You have not provided a balanced discussion or a clear conclusion, meaning the task is only partially addressed. To improve, you must ensure you fully develop your arguments for both sides of the prompt and provide a clear, reasoned conclusion. The current length prevents you from reaching a higher band as the response is essentially a fragment.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay uses some basic cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'Moreover', and 'Therefore' to link ideas. However, because the text is incomplete, the overall progression of the argument is interrupted. Paragraphing is attempted, but the abrupt ending makes it impossible to judge the full logical flow of the essay. To improve, focus on completing your thoughts within each paragraph and ensuring that your transition words lead to a fully developed conclusion that synthesises your main points.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'contemporary society', 'innovative', 'specifications', and 'brand reputation'. There are some minor issues with word choice, such as 'productive outcomes' (which is slightly unnatural in this context) and 'associations' (where 'companies' or 'corporations' would be more precise). The vocabulary is generally sufficient to convey your meaning, but you need to expand your range and ensure more precise collocations to reach higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are some grammatical errors, such as 'organisations reveals' (subject-verb agreement) and 'as through advertisements' (fragmented structure). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are noticeable. To improve, pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement and ensure that your sentences are complete and grammatically sound. Increasing the variety of your complex structures while maintaining accuracy will help you achieve a higher score.
