Student answer (Band 5.0)

Yes.In my opinion this is a positive sign because people do not like same kind of old products or things for long time.People wants new products because they want to taste new products. If a brand emphasize their product in different way this will attract prople more. There is another thing which is if a product which is not popular among people life before, if a brand can re-introduce this product in a other way people think of it again. As a result people may attract and buy this product again. That is why some brand whom they know about business policy can apply this strategy. For exam: Let's think about a paste.Usually people use paste and mouth wash at the same time.Because of buying two products they must be expense more.If a brand comes with a tricks like they use cloves in this paste also.Everyone knows that clove can reduce bad smell of mouth and can kill germs. If this brand advatizing like that our paste is two in one. This works as paste and mouth wash at the same time, clove is a natural product, natural product is best for our health etc. Then people must be attracted which increasing the sale of that brand of that paste. So,yes this is a positive development for a brand.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the essay addresses both parts of the prompt—explaining why businesses emphasize 'newness' and offering an opinion on whether this is positive—the arguments are underdeveloped. The explanation regarding consumer psychology is simplistic, and the example provided is repetitive and lacks depth. To improve, you must expand your points with more sophisticated reasoning and ensure you meet the length requirement to allow for a full exploration of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear paragraph structure; it is presented as a single block of text, which makes it difficult to follow. There is a lack of logical progression between ideas, and the use of cohesive devices is very limited and often mechanical (e.g., 'As a result', 'That is why'). Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow of the argument is disjointed. To improve, you should organize your response into distinct paragraphs—an introduction, body paragraphs for each main point, and a conclusion—and use a wider variety of linking words to connect your sentences more naturally.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, often relying on simple words like 'products', 'things', and 'good'. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and incorrect word choices, such as 'must be expense more' instead of 'would be more expensive' and 'advatizing' (spelling error). The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas effectively. You should focus on learning topic-specific collocations related to marketing and consumer behavior, and work on using more precise synonyms to avoid repeating the same words throughout the text.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'People wants'), incorrect verb tenses, and missing articles. Sentence structures are predominantly simple, with very few attempts at complex sentences. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after periods. To improve, you need to practice using a wider variety of complex sentence structures, such as conditional sentences or relative clauses, and pay closer attention to basic grammatical accuracy, particularly verb forms and sentence boundaries.
