Student answer (Band 5.5)
NOWADAYS. MANY COMPANIES ARE ADMITTING IN THEIR ADVERTISMENT THAT THEIR PRODUCT IS UNIQUE THAN OTHER SIMILAR PRODUCTS OF OTHER COMPANIES. I BELIEVE THAT IT HAS SOME POSITIVE DEVELOPMENT AS WELL AS SOME NEGATIVE ASPECTS. BUT THE POSITIVE DEVELOPMENT SUPASSES THE NEGATIVE DEVELOPMENT.
INDUSTRIES SHOULD INTRODUCE NEW FEATURES AS THE PERIOD IS PASSING TO COMPETE WITH THE OPPONENT COMPANY ALSO FOR UPSCALLING THEIR PROFIT RATIO.HOWEVER, IN HURRY THEY MAKE SOME MISTAKES DUE TO WHICH THERE PRODUCT GETS FLOP. FOR INSTANCE, OLA AN ELECTRICAL SCOOTER COMPANY IN INDIA INTRODUCED THEIR NEW MODEL WITH MANY MIND-BLOWING FEATURES. BUT THE BUILD QUALITY OF SCOOTER AS WELL AS THE ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM WAS WORSE. MANY INCIDENTS TOOK PLACE OF BURNING OF OLA SCOOTER. ADDITIONALLY, MANY PEOPLE ALSO LOST THEIR LIVES. PEOPLE LOST THEIR SAVINGS AS WELL. IT CAUSED A SOCIAL DISTRUST AND ALSO A ECONOMICAL LOSS TO THE COMPANY. PEOPLE OFTEN GET FRAUD BY THE FAKE ADVERTISMENT BY THE COMPANY. THEY DO NOT INCLUDE THE NEW FEATURES AS PROMISED IN PROMOSION.
YET, THERE ARE MANY ADVANTAGES IN ADDITION OF INTRODUCING NEW FEATURE TO THE PRODUCT. MANY RESEARCHERS ARE ENCOURAGED FOR DISCOVERING NEW PRODUCTS IN MARKET. AND IT RESULTS OF INTRODUCTION OF WIRELESS CHARGERS,MOBILE. FOR EXAMPLE, IN EARLY 2000S PEOPLE WERE RELAY ON TOUCHPAD PHONES. BUT THEN CAME A REVOULATIONARY NAMED STEVE JOBS WITH A BRAND NEW INNOVATION OF TOUCHSCREEN PHONE. HE NAMED THE PHONE AS IPHONE. DUE TO WHICH INTRODUCTION OF AUTOMOBILE TECH ADVANCED.
LASTLY, I CONCLUDE THAT ADVANTAGES OUTSCALES THE DISADVANTAGES IN VARIOUS ASPECTS. AS THERE SHOULD BE SOME LAWS IMPLEMENTED ON FRAUD WITH THE CONSUMERS BY THE COMPANY. UNDER CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT GOVERNMENT SHOULD ANNALYSE THE NEW PRODUCT BEFORE THR RELEASE. AND NEW RESEARCH SHOULD BE ENCOURAGED.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: explaining why businesses emphasize newness and providing an opinion on whether this is positive or negative. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The example regarding the Ola scooter is specific but perhaps too detailed, while the discussion on innovation could be more analytical. The conclusion is a bit abrupt. To reach a higher band, ensure that the explanation of 'why' businesses do this is more thoroughly explored beyond just 'profit' and 'competition', and provide more balanced support for the positive/negative aspects.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a central theme. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'YET, THERE ARE MANY ADVANTAGES' and 'LASTLY, I CONCLUDE'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. While the progression of ideas is generally logical, the transition between the negative impact of faulty products and the positive impact of innovation feels a bit abrupt. Improving the variety and naturalness of linking words would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and sophistication required for higher bands. There are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'opponent company' (competitor), 'flop' (a colloquialism), 'economical loss' (economic loss), and 'outscales' (outweighs). The use of 'mind-blowing' is too informal for an academic essay. While the student attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'innovation' and 'consumer protection', the overall range is limited, and the frequent spelling and collocation errors occasionally hinder the flow of the argument.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While there are attempts at complex sentences, they are often marred by grammatical errors, such as 'DUE TO WHICH INTRODUCTION OF AUTOMOBILE TECH ADVANCED' and 'PEOPLE OFTEN GET FRAUD BY THE FAKE ADVERTISMENT'. There are frequent errors in article usage, subject-verb agreement, and punctuation (e.g., missing spaces after periods). The use of all-caps throughout the text is also inappropriate for a formal writing task. To improve, the student should focus on mastering basic sentence construction and reducing the frequency of errors that occur in almost every sentence.
