Student answer (Band 5.5)
Advertising businesses in today's world usually describe that their products are new in some way.
In my perspective it is a positive development. As the rise in technology has developed many people rely on advertisement for products. The people who manufacture the products they will use the platform of advertisement in such a way that everyone in the world should aware of their products , company and brand , this makes them advantageous and better growth.
Everything like products, businesses whatever has been manufactured is advertised. Advertisement can happen through technology, news papers or making pamphlets, posters .For example, at my school after the results of ssc students immediately they begin to prepare a pamphlets just to advertise their success, grades , infrastructure, facilities available at school just to make increment in admissions for their growth. Therefore advertisement is the only step where they can know about something developed in city, or world .
The advertisement comes in a negative way when people won't be satisfied with your product or it is been advertised. For example, recently a new movie called toxic trailer has launched where Kiara advani has performed bold scenes in it . The people raised many negative comments towards her that after getting married what is the purpose of performing such scenes in the movie. These creates a negative impact on her and as well on movie. Therefore advertising is the great option but considering it as positive and negative the content and the brand product will decide and in many cases people keep their perspectives by commenting on it .
I conclude that advertisement is a great platform just to take your product over the world, as it has both positive and negative development it completely rely on brand , company, name , good brand gets positive development if any negative occurs leads to negative development.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying why businesses emphasize 'newness' and providing an opinion on whether this is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. The explanation for why companies focus on new products is somewhat superficial, relying on general statements about growth. The discussion regarding the 'negative' aspect is largely irrelevant to the prompt, as it focuses on a specific movie trailer controversy rather than the broader implications of advertising new products. To improve, you should focus on the impact of consumerism, planned obsolescence, or the psychological appeal of novelty, rather than anecdotal examples that do not directly answer the core question.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow is frequently interrupted by awkward phrasing and abrupt transitions. While there is an attempt to use cohesive devices like 'Therefore' and 'For example', they are often used incorrectly or to connect unrelated ideas. The progression of arguments is not always clear, particularly in the third paragraph, where the transition from school advertising to movie trailers feels disjointed. To improve, ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and that subsequent sentences directly support that point, using linking words more naturally to guide the reader through your argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. There is a reliance on basic terms like 'good', 'great', and 'things'. Some word choices are imprecise, such as 'make increment in admissions' instead of 'increase admissions' or 'advertising businesses' instead of 'advertisers'. There are also minor errors in collocation and word form, such as 'everyone in the world should aware of'. To reach a higher band, focus on using more sophisticated vocabulary related to marketing and consumer behavior, and ensure that words are used in their correct grammatical context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'these creates a negative impact'), missing articles, and awkward sentence construction (e.g., 'it is been advertised'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas and periods. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. You should focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your sentence structures are grammatically sound.
