Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, businesses usually try to show that there products are new in the market. The reason to do this kind of marketing is only to sell there products. From my point of view, it has both positive and negative impact on costumers. I will discuss this in detail in the following peragraphs.
Firstly, the main reason why a company tries to show their products new is costumer's psychology. When a costumer see a new product either on roadside or on the phone it created dopamine and then he wants to try it at least once. And the manufacturer get more profit when anyone purchase their products.
Moreover, I believe it also has a negative aspects, because when costumer buy a product even when he don't need that it increases the monthly expense of a person, furthermore, this kind of advertisement leads to more demands even when not necessary or even thier pocket don't allow them to buy that but due to easy access to credit cards people buy that product imedetlly and after month they can't pay off debt.
On the other hand, when people buy more products by watching advertisements the businessman get more profit and can give more employment that helps many youngsters to live their live and help their family and friends financially and emotionally.
To conclude, it's completely depends on person's will power to control themself from not buying unususal thing just only seeing advertiement on their phone or roadside.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for emphasizing newness and the evaluation of whether this is positive or negative. However, the development is limited. The ideas regarding 'dopamine' and 'economic benefits' are relevant but lack depth and specific examples. Furthermore, the response falls short of the 250-word minimum requirement, which negatively impacts the overall development of the argument. To improve, you should expand on your points with more detailed explanations and concrete examples to ensure the essay is fully developed and meets the length requirement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, and there is a basic logical progression from the reasons for marketing to the positive and negative impacts. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive (e.g., 'Firstly', 'Moreover', 'On the other hand'). Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the transition between the psychological impact and the economic consequences. The flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed idea.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. There are several spelling errors, such as 'costumers' (customers), 'peragraphs', 'thier', and 'imedetlly', which indicate a lack of control over spelling. The range of vocabulary is limited, relying on basic terms like 'good', 'bad', and 'buy'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more sophisticated vocabulary related to marketing and consumer behavior, and pay closer attention to spelling accuracy.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'costumer see', 'businessman get'), incorrect word forms (e.g., 'there products' instead of 'their'), and punctuation errors. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from achieving a higher score. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like homophones (there/their) would significantly improve your accuracy.
