Student answer (Band 5.5)

Advertising is the key component for running a business in a larger scale. However some companies take that piece of information very seriously in their notice that they started spending lots of amount of money in the advertisement. Companies usually compares their best selling product to other companies worst selling product with a marketing strategy.

Moreover. the companies takes accountability that their products are new by giving some extra tested reports which can be reliable in future. In addition to that claiming something never heard of can automatically boost the catchy nature of the consumer which is beneficial to the company. Established business make new products claiming the upper hand in the market which is generally positive to get a high margin out of it

In example of my self from the following, i bought a phone which turned out to be a good purchase. In general i would not buy a phone from just claims but here's the catch to that is the phone got my attention due to different kinds of advertisement and the way they emphasis the product advanced features that got my attention. Following this thinking i bought that phone. Following this purchase i realized it is the advertising that caught my eye

Notably its a positive development and a positive thing that has been noted by the businesses that advertising and claiming the actual reality in ads can get the customer chain ready to believe in that their products is new and one should give it a try.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: why businesses emphasize 'newness' and whether this is positive or negative. However, the development is limited. The explanation for why companies emphasize newness is somewhat vague, relying on general statements like 'claiming something never heard of can automatically boost the catchy nature'. The discussion on whether it is positive or negative is underdeveloped, lacking specific, well-reasoned arguments. The personal example provided is anecdotal and does not effectively support the broader argument about business strategy. To improve, you should provide more detailed analysis and clearer examples to support your position.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow is often disrupted by awkward phrasing and unclear transitions. For example, the sentence 'Moreover. the companies takes accountability' uses incorrect punctuation and a confusing connector. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the phrase 'In example of my self from the following', which makes it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of ideas. While there is an attempt to use cohesive devices, they are often used mechanically or incorrectly, which hinders the overall flow of the argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally basic and sometimes imprecise. Phrases like 'lots of amount of money' and 'catchy nature of the consumer' are unnatural and demonstrate a limited control of collocation. There are also instances of word-choice errors, such as 'customer chain' instead of 'customer base'. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas with precision. To reach a higher band, you should focus on learning more academic collocations and avoiding repetitive or informal phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'companies takes'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, such as 'In addition to that claiming something never heard of can automatically boost the catchy nature of the consumer which is beneficial to the company.' The range of structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple or poorly constructed complex sentences. Improving your control over basic sentence construction and punctuation is essential for a higher score.
