Student answer (Band 6.0)

Business has always been regarded as the backbone of modern socity contributing technological advancement and economic growth. Businesses nowadays usually grow by advertising the unique features of their products. However, different perspectives exist on this matter, I firmly believe that a balanced and sustainable approach is essential to maximize the benefits and minimize the negative consequences.

On the one hand, supporters of business advertisement argue that public attract toward only that new product which has unique property. Otherwise people reject to buy that product because this already present in market. By introducing a new properties, companies can increase the prices of their product as new innovatve launch. This cause inspirition of innovation in already existed products with common basic features. For example, natural product named as sativa replaced sucral for diabetic patients as it is without any additive that can cause cancer for a long time users. Consequently, many expers suggested that we should launch only a new product of same catagory if it contains new property otherwise there will be its not so much demand in market.

On the other hand, advocates of negative aspects contend that many businesses claim that their product contain new traits but it is totally fake and only for advertisement purpose. So, people are hesitated to buy new product as it cause trust issues in public. There will proper logo or mark of an FDA or any other trusted organizations according to the product type.

In conclusion, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. In my opinion, there should be a proper framework and legal structure for advertisement of product. And there should be penalty for wrong advertisement.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: explaining why businesses emphasize newness and providing an opinion on whether this is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The explanation for why companies emphasize newness is clear, but the discussion on the negative aspects is less developed and relies on generalizations. The example provided regarding 'sativa' is slightly confusing in its context. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully supported with clear, logical reasoning rather than jumping between ideas. The position is clear throughout, but the depth of analysis could be improved to better satisfy the requirements of a Band 7.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the one hand' and 'In conclusion,' which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'Otherwise people reject to buy that product because this already present in market.' Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, making some sentences feel disjointed. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words would enhance the flow of the essay and help it move toward a higher band.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'public attract toward' instead of 'consumers are attracted to' and 'inspirition of innovation' instead of 'fostering innovation.' Spelling errors like 'socity,' 'innovatve,' and 'expers' also occur. While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, and the errors in word formation and collocation prevent a higher score. Focusing on more natural collocations would be beneficial.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include 'this already present in market' (missing verb), 'it cause trust issues' (subject-verb agreement), and 'there will proper logo' (missing verb). Punctuation is also inconsistent in places. While the writer attempts complex structures, the control over them is not consistent. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, article usage, and ensuring that every sentence has a clear, correctly conjugated verb.
