In recent years, advertising businesses has become a noticeable trend in many parts of the world. Although this development may give rise to certain challenges, I consider this to be an overall positive development. because of its impact on increasing sales and being visible on the internet.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt but fails to engage with the specific core of the question: why businesses emphasize that their products are 'new'. The essay focuses generally on the benefits of advertising (increasing sales and internet visibility) rather than the specific strategy of highlighting 'newness'. Consequently, the ideas are somewhat generic and do not fully explore the psychological or competitive reasons behind the 'new product' marketing trend. While a position is stated, the development is limited by this lack of focus on the specific prompt requirements, leading to an under-developed argument.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'This is primarily because' and 'Another significant advantage'. Some transitions are awkward, such as starting a sentence with 'Like if you are...'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences within paragraphs is sometimes disjointed, which prevents the essay from reaching a higher band for coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. The student relies on basic, repetitive phrasing such as 'increase your product sales' and 'being visible on the internet'. There are instances of awkward collocation, such as 'advertising businesses' (which is used repeatedly but is not a standard phrase in this context). While the meaning is generally clear, there is little evidence of less common lexical items or sophisticated control over word choice.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, including punctuation issues (e.g., '...positive development. because of...'), subject-verb agreement errors, and awkward sentence fragments. For instance, 'Audience can engage is totally depend on the quality of your ad' is grammatically incorrect and impedes clarity. While the errors do not completely prevent communication, they are frequent enough to limit the score to a 5.5, as the control over complex structures is inconsistent.
