Student answer (Band 5.5)
Many companies claim in their advertises that they provide a unique products and services compared to other. This essay will shed the light on reasons behind this and I think that this trend has more benefits than drawbacks.
Nowadays, organization always try to show their products in different way. This scenario has some reasons and the primary cause is that profit is their first priority, so they always put efforts toward increase in sales. If they show their products in creative way on screen, they easily improve their revenue and profit. For instant, a company have business of chocolate and they describe how their all flavors has unique test, their demand of market would suddenly rise.
The another reason is that they all have a huge competition in the market. They always have to come up with creativity in order to stay in competition, specially in technological world. Audience mostly prefer those product which are new and beneficial from other so businesses always set up uniqueness.
I personally consider that this trend has some negative development as I think that industries some time promote harmful products in creative way without explaining the truth. Consuming wrong items because of the advertisement or show off, could put people's lives in dangers especially about food products. As a result, those companies become reason for certain health issues and misleading the population.
In conclusion, all factories has their own purpose of presenting their products in the market and that has some benefits but I Think that this trend could impact negative on our lives.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for emphasizing 'newness' and the evaluation of whether this is positive or negative. However, the development is somewhat superficial. The reasons provided (profit and competition) are relevant but lack depth. The discussion on the negative aspects is also brief and could have been better supported with more concrete examples. While a position is clear, the argument lacks the nuance required for a higher band. The conclusion contradicts the body paragraph slightly, as the body suggests benefits, but the conclusion focuses heavily on the negative impact, showing a lack of consistent development.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'The another reason' is grammatically incorrect, and transitions like 'For instant' (instead of 'For instance') and 'In conclusion' are used in a formulaic way. The progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed, particularly between the second and third paragraphs. While the paragraphing is logical, the internal cohesion within paragraphs is weak due to repetitive sentence structures and limited linking words.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision expected at higher levels. There are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'advertises' instead of 'advertisements', 'unique test' instead of 'unique taste', and 'impact negative' instead of 'have a negative impact'. The student relies on simple, repetitive vocabulary (e.g., 'products', 'companies', 'show'). While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of variety and the frequent collocation errors prevent the response from reaching a higher band. More sophisticated vocabulary related to marketing or consumer behavior would improve the score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('a company have', 'all factories has'), article usage ('in technological world'), and pluralization ('a unique products'). While the meaning is usually understandable, these errors are persistent throughout the text. The student attempts complex sentences, but they are often marred by errors in syntax or word form. To improve, the student should focus on basic grammatical accuracy, particularly with articles and subject-verb agreement.
