Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some businesses use advertisement for their product on which they label that their product is new in market and there is no other product like that. I belive that this type of advertisement is positive devolpment. I will disscuss this in detail in upcoming paragraphs.

Most of companines show their product as a new product in advertisement. They do such things to increase their sales. Because in towday's world people always wanted to experience new things. When they saw something new they started willing to buy that thing. In this way the company's sales increases and they get a lot of profit.

In addition, they do so because when their business is in downfall or their product are no more selling then they come with a new strategy. They launch a new thing and introduce it to coustomers with advertisement. As i had discuss before that people always wanted to try new things. Their product become trending product with this and their repotation increases in market and their old product also sale out.

On other hand, it is only a trap to engage customers because they only changes the label on product but it ingredients remains same. The businesses only want to earn money by folling folks.

To sum up all this, the companises introduce their goods as new in market to earn money. Their only goal is to achive a high selling ratio not to provide quality of product. So they label the old product as new and introduce it with consumers.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: explaining why businesses emphasize 'newness' and providing an opinion on whether this is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention sales and strategy, the arguments are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the discussion on the negative aspect is brief and lacks specific examples or a more nuanced exploration of consumer psychology or market ethics. To improve, ensure each paragraph provides a clear, well-supported point rather than repeating the same idea about 'wanting new things' multiple times. The position is clear, but the supporting evidence is underdeveloped.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite mechanical and sometimes inaccurate. For example, 'In addition' and 'On other hand' are used, but the transitions between sentences within paragraphs are often abrupt. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'As i had discuss before', which refers back to a previous point in a way that feels repetitive rather than progressive. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence flows logically from the previous one would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'new thing', 'good', and 'bad' (implied). There are several spelling errors, such as 'belive', 'devolpment', 'companines', 'towday's', 'coustomers', 'repotation', and 'folling'. These errors, while not always impeding communication, are frequent enough to affect the overall impression. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more precise academic vocabulary (e.g., 'innovation', 'marketing strategy', 'consumer behavior') and ensure that your spelling is accurate throughout the text.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occur throughout the text, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('sales increases', 'product are no more selling', 'ingredients remains') and article usage ('in market', 'in advertisement'). While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors in basic grammar prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. To improve, focus on proofreading your work for subject-verb agreement and ensuring that articles (a, an, the) are used correctly with nouns.
