Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt but fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you identify reasons for the emphasis on 'newness' and discuss both positive and negative aspects, the arguments are underdeveloped. For instance, the discussion on negative impacts is cut short and lacks sufficient depth or examples. To improve, ensure you fully expand on each point with clear explanations and illustrative examples, and ensure you meet the minimum length requirement to allow for a more comprehensive exploration of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'To commence with' and 'To elaborate its positive impacts'. There are also issues with referencing; for example, 'if it has positive impact' is vague. The progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed, particularly in the final paragraph, which ends abruptly. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words more naturally and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that connects logically to the next.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, often relying on basic terms like 'good', 'buy', and 'product'. There are noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'in a human life' instead of 'in human life' and 'peoples' (which should be 'people'). The phrase 'forthcoming fragments' is also unnatural in this context. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a broader range of vocabulary, including less common lexical items and collocations, and pay closer attention to word forms and pluralization rules.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'advertisement seek', 'companies hires', 'companies gives'), incorrect article usage, and punctuation errors. Sentence structures are generally simple, and attempts at more complex sentences often contain errors, such as 'This essay will be outlined not only the reasons but also positive way'. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and sentence structure before attempting more complex grammatical forms. Proofreading for common errors like missing articles and incorrect verb endings is essential.
