Student answer (Band 5.0)
In their advertising, businesses every time emphasizing that their items are new in some way.
Firstly, Mostly businesses are trying to make new products to attract audiences towards. For instance, businesses make new products and they compare new products to old the benifites of new product more while the old have not major improvements compared to new item. Thats why companies male new products.
Secondly, Some businesses copy the specification of the old product and past to the new one these products are same but they are trying to make more profit and make people fool and rob them. For example, iphone companey are making new iphones but meney of them are similar with each other however they make people fool stole money from them.
Thirdly, planty corporation are trying to copy the product of other companies and they give their own name but the product is same. For example, in pakistan there is a cold drink his name is Next Cola they are same to Coca Cola the same test the same colour but the same packaging. However they make people fool and make his profit.
Forthly, We need to make ourselves aware from these like things and do some research behind the real products and the fack items. However we need to spread awareness about these things and aware our old and younger youth and men and women also because their is easy to make fool women.
In my opinion the businesses will make such products in the fiture and they will still making welth from them.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing why businesses emphasize newness and whether this is positive or negative. However, the development is limited. The arguments regarding 'making people fool' and 'stealing money' are repetitive and lack the nuance expected for an academic task. The position is somewhat clear, but the analysis remains superficial. The essay focuses heavily on the negative aspects of marketing, failing to explore potential positive reasons for emphasizing newness, such as technological advancement or improved efficiency. To improve, you should provide more balanced, well-reasoned arguments and ensure each point is fully extended with clear, logical explanations rather than repetitive accusations.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay uses basic cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'Thirdly', which provides a rudimentary structure. However, the progression of ideas is often disjointed. Paragraphing is present but the internal flow within paragraphs is weak, often relying on repetitive sentence structures. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the sentence 'these products are same but they are trying to make more profit', where the connection between the subjects is muddled. The conclusion is very brief and does not effectively summarize the main points or provide a final synthesis of the argument. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring a smoother transition between sentences would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, which restricts the ability to convey complex ideas. Phrases like 'make people fool' and 'rob them' are informal and imprecise for an academic context. There are several spelling errors, such as 'benifites', 'meney', 'planty', 'fack', and 'fiture', which occasionally impede readability. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express nuanced arguments about business practices or consumer behavior. To achieve a higher band, you should focus on learning topic-specific collocations and synonyms to avoid repeating the same basic words throughout the essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'businesses every time emphasizing'), incorrect verb tenses, and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'they will still making welth'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after periods and commas. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on mastering basic sentence patterns and proofreading for common errors like article usage and verb forms.
