Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, businessess represent their products in a way that show they are advanced in some features. This essay will discuss the reasons behind it and I think it has the positive impact on the organizations.
Businessess show their products are unique in the advertisments due to many reasons. Firstly, many similar products were available in the market but the products with special features attract the more audience. A classic ad helps to gain attention of many consumers. Consequently business grow dramatically. secondly, industries can earn more, by adding some specific features they can demand more price from buyers. For example, if a electronics company selling a camera in $17 and in the next release they add two control buttons in the same camera and sell about $20. Finally, in the current era due to vast advertising stuff online, people only stuck on that items that are special from others and these new products encourge people to buy something advance.
In my opinion, it is a positive development and by using this tecnique business can grow in a short time. This generation want items that looks different from the others and with the special funtionalities because this is the era of social media and everyone wants to show their surrounding and if all indivituals will share the same content then they would lose the curiosity of audience.
To sum up, by advertising products that have new funtionalities than the competitors represented by companies help to grow organization and gain more cunsumers and these ads have greate influence on public to buy special item. I believe it is a greate development that helps to boost buyer in the time when everyone displays new items everyday.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for emphasizing 'newness' and the writer's opinion on whether this is positive or negative. The ideas are relevant, such as the competitive advantage and the psychological appeal to consumers. However, the development is somewhat limited. The explanation regarding the camera example is a bit simplistic, and the argument about social media could be expanded further to fully explore the 'why' behind the trend. The position is clear throughout, but the depth of analysis remains at a Band 6 level, as some points are stated rather than fully explored.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Firstly', 'Consequently', and 'To sum up', which help the reader follow the argument. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive. Additionally, there are instances where the flow between sentences is slightly disjointed, particularly in the second paragraph. Paragraphing is used appropriately, but the overall structure could benefit from more sophisticated transitions to move beyond a basic list-like format.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts to use topic-specific language like 'competitive advantage' or 'functionalities', though some word choices are slightly awkward, such as 'advertising stuff' or 'boost buyer'. There are also several spelling errors, including 'businessess', 'tecnique', 'funtionalities', 'indivituals', and 'greate'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the score. To reach a higher band, the writer should focus on more precise collocations and ensure accurate spelling of common academic terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the writer attempts complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'it has the positive impact', 'people only stuck on that items', and 'this generation want items that looks'. Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent throughout the text. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the message, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Increasing the variety of complex structures while improving accuracy in basic grammar would significantly enhance the quality of the writing.
