Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowadays businesses usually needs advertisement of their products to attract customers and for the betterment of their sales . If they dont use the advantage of the advertisement they will not be able to mark their name and sell their products and they cant be able to mark their name in their field . Advertisment plays the vital role for increasing the sales of their product . As we all know that nowadays people use social media very frequently and they want to make sure that the money they are spending for the buying of their proucts their money should be invest on the right things so their cant be go wasted Thats why advertisement is important

But as we all know that if there are some advantages of something tgere is also some disadvantage of these things A lot of business owners and brands emphasise a lot to sell their products while knowing that their product is worth buying for their customers in my opinion emphasise their products a lot which are best is not good for the customers .Because in this way the customers who are buying their products becuase of some advertisement their money is gonna waste and they will regret it after purchasing the products just because of some good advertisement

Their are lot of marketing and advertisement companies nowadays who are helping the business owners with marketing and help them to sell their products with the good selling margin

In my firstly the opinion business owners should improve the quality of their products and sell it with the minimum

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt but lacks depth and structure. While you identify that businesses use advertising to increase sales, the explanation of why they emphasise 'newness' is underdeveloped. You mention that advertising is important for brand recognition, but you do not explicitly link this to the specific requirement of explaining why 'newness' is the focus. Furthermore, the essay is incomplete; it ends abruptly in the middle of a sentence, meaning your conclusion and final arguments are missing. This prevents a full development of your position, which is a significant limitation in meeting the task requirements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear logical progression. Paragraphing is used, but the transition between ideas is disjointed. There is a lack of cohesive devices; for instance, the second paragraph begins with 'But as we all know', which is somewhat informal and repetitive. The lack of a concluding paragraph and the incomplete final sentence severely disrupt the flow of the argument. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the overall structure is mechanical rather than fluid, making it difficult for the reader to follow the development of your argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic phrases like 'mark their name', 'good selling margin', and 'betterment of their sales'. There are also several errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'money should be invest' instead of 'invested' and 'their cant be go wasted'. You rely on simple, everyday language and do not demonstrate the ability to use less common lexical items or precise terminology related to marketing or business. To improve, you should focus on using more academic vocabulary and ensuring correct word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement ('businesses usually needs'), incorrect verb forms ('they cant be able to'), and missing articles or prepositions. Sentence structures are generally simple, and attempts at more complex sentences often result in errors, such as the run-on sentence starting with 'As we all know that nowadays...'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing commas and periods throughout the text. A greater focus on basic grammatical accuracy and sentence structure is required.
