Student answer (Band 5.0)
In recent years, many advertisements promote their produce like that they are brand new in some way because consumer wants something fresh stock in their life and they want experience such a product that they did not use before. In my opinion this is a positive development.
One of the main reason for this trend is that many enterprises publish their items in unique way such as they show the item is original and innovative in their ads. This is because some of the individuals especially youngsters prefer latest and genuine products for their use. Furthermore, commercial basically designed for targeted audience. For example, beauty product companies target only female audience and they create advertise that mostly female attracts and they realese up-to-date stock. As a result many women buy these items.
In my perspective, this is a positive development because generally when agencies make goods they depends on customer needs. Firstly consumer needs change frequently by the time. Secondly they want unique taste in their daily life product. For instance, in Canada lots of drinkables are made by one company according to the people taste and this company change their soda's taste by the time and publish innovative campagins for their different fl. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for the focus on 'newness' and providing a clear opinion. However, the essay is significantly under the 250-word minimum, which limits the depth of the arguments. The conclusion is incomplete, consisting only of the introductory phrase, which prevents a full summary of the position. While the ideas are relevant, they are somewhat under-developed due to the brevity of the response. To improve, you must expand on your examples and ensure a complete structure, including a fully developed conclusion that restates your main points.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, and there is a basic attempt at logical progression. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as the repetitive use of 'Firstly' and 'Secondly' without a clear overarching structure. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the abrupt ending at 'In conclusion,' severely impacts the overall coherence of the piece. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph flows logically into the next, culminating in a finished conclusion.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'produce' instead of 'products', 'fresh stock in their life', and 'drinkables'. Some terms are used incorrectly, such as 'realese' (spelling error) and 'fl' (incomplete word). The range is limited, and the essay relies on basic, repetitive phrasing. To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to marketing and consumer behaviour, and pay closer attention to word forms and spelling.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'consumer wants' (missing article/pluralisation), 'commercial basically designed' (missing auxiliary verb), and 'they depends on' (subject-verb agreement error). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focus on subject-verb agreement, article usage, and ensuring that your sentences are complete and grammatically sound.
