Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: explaining why businesses emphasize novelty and providing an opinion on whether this is positive. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention that novelty grabs attention and helps businesses sustain themselves, the arguments lack specific examples or deeper analysis. For instance, you could have discussed how constant innovation forces companies to improve quality or how it might lead to consumerism. The position is clear, but the supporting points are repetitive, focusing primarily on 'sales' and 'profit' without exploring the broader implications of this marketing strategy.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'In general', 'Secondly', and 'To conclude' to link your thoughts. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. For example, the transition between the second and third paragraphs is slightly abrupt. Additionally, some referencing is a bit unclear, such as the use of 'this new way of introduction' which could be more precisely linked to the previous paragraph's content.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'integral role', 'momentum', and 'competitive market'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choices and spelling errors, such as 'channelise' (channel), 'postive' (positive), 'diffrent' (different), 'updation' (innovation/updates), and 'energetise' (energize). These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your writing. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more sophisticated collocations and ensuring accurate spelling of key terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('Every business owners want', 'advertisements highlights') and incorrect preposition usage ('suits to the current needs'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma placement (e.g., 'advertisements are, ultimately, meant'). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall fluency of the writing. Increasing the variety of error-free complex structures will help improve this score.
