Student answer (Band 5.0)

In this essay, I am going to discuss at both views that , businesses nowadays claim that their products are new in some way. So is this positive development or negative development. Firstly i will write about positive impact then negative impact and lastly i will conclude the essay.

In todays generation where business has no limit. And the business which provides more facilities will definitely grow. I genuinely believe that , In today's time almost every business which is called as new business product or new technology's is somehow quite developed version of old models. More business are just made for providing much more comfort than before. So they are not exactly new products they are just advanced version or old models.

Yes, I think making a advanced product can be both positive or negative development. According to me not evey product needs everybody. So if the marketing is done properly, for example someone makes digital gita book so the makers have to target elders people for selling more because that age group people are more likely to read gits book. So if the Marketing of the new products is done properly then it can impact positive.

On the other hand if the somebody is copying any product while calling it new product then people can easily get to know this and the business idea will flop.

In conclusion, businesses mainly highlight the new features of their products because customers are attracted to new which help them and improved things

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt but lacks depth. While you identify that businesses emphasize 'newness' to attract customers, the explanation of 'why' is underdeveloped. The discussion on whether this is positive or negative is superficial; for example, the point about the 'digital gita book' is a specific, somewhat confusing example that does not clearly illustrate a broader argument about the impact of marketing. The position is present but not consistently maintained or fully supported with logical reasoning. To improve, you should provide more detailed explanations for your arguments and ensure each point directly answers the 'why' and 'positive/negative' aspects of the question.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow between ideas is often disjointed. The introduction is repetitive, and the transition between the positive and negative aspects is abrupt. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often mechanical or misused, such as 'According to me' and 'So if the Marketing of the new products is done properly'. The referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of your argument. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'new', 'business', and 'product'. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'digital gita book' and 'that age group people'. You attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary, but it is often imprecise. To reach a higher band, you need to demonstrate a wider range of vocabulary, including collocations and less common lexical items, while ensuring they are used accurately in context. Avoid repeating the same words throughout the essay; instead, use synonyms to show variety.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('More business are'), article usage ('the marketing', 'the business'), and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, which impacts readability. While you attempt some complex structures, they are often inaccurate. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct punctuation, and checking for common errors like pluralization and verb tense consistency. Reducing the number of errors is essential for clarity and to move into a higher band.
