Student answer (Band 5.0)

Yes, In my opinion the advertising show us that the bussiness emphasize that there product are new in some way because they try to show the things or products in new way because they want to sell it at any cost beacuse they have purchased it from the industries and they dont want any loss in there business so they want to sell it and they make new and different types of ads of that product and attractive ads beacuse they dont want any type of loss in it somehow in bussiness there is both profit and loss but the bussiness man mostly dont want much loss in their bussiness so they want to sell the products in a new and attractive way which attract the customer and force them to buy

Also i think so not all but many of the stores also do scams with the customers that they show something else on the stores and show something different in real I just think so that its a negative thing and must be forbidden .

Other wise all the way to enhance the business and to sell the products businesses man can make the look attractive of the products but that must be in real life real . I think in my opinion its a positive development to sell the products in new and attractive way so the bussines man can sell their products and earn profit .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to address both parts of the prompt regarding why businesses emphasise new products and whether this is positive or negative. However, the ideas are repetitive and underdeveloped, overly focusing on the fear of loss. Furthermore, the response is under the required 250-word minimum, containing only 240 words, which has a negative impact on the overall task achievement score. The writer mentions scams and profitability, but lacks concrete examples or well-structured arguments to fully satisfy the band descriptors for higher levels, resulting in a Band 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The text suffers from a lack of proper paragraphing, being divided into three chunky, run-on sections where sentences are joined together with excessive use of 'and' and 'because'. There is a distinct lack of appropriate cohesive devices to guide the reader smoothly through the arguments. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the pronoun use in 'show us that the bussiness emphasize that there product'. While there is a basic progression of thought, the mechanical cohesion and inadequate paragraph structure place this at a Band 4.5, rounded to 5.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently reusing words like 'business', 'product', 'sell', and 'new' throughout the text. There are notable spelling errors, such as 'bussiness', 'beacuse', 'dont', and 'bussines man'. While the range is minimally adequate to convey the basic premise of commerce and advertising, the lack of flexibility and frequent lexical inaccuracies prevent it from achieving a higher score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The text relies heavily on long, run-on compound sentences connected by conjunctions rather than a balanced mix of simple and complex structures. Grammatical and punctuation control is weak, with missing apostrophes ('dont', 'bussiness man') and subject-verb agreement issues like 'there product are new'. Frequent errors cause some difficulty for the reader, matching the characteristics of a Band 4.5 performance, which is represented here as a Band 4.5.
