Student answer (Band 5.0)
In this modern globalized era, nowadays businesses are usually emphasis on advertising through social media and newspapers. In my opinion, this development brings both constructive as well as destructive outcomes.
To begin with, this trend is driven by numerous positive factors. First of all, in this contemporary era, companies mainly focus on marketing for the introduction of their new product launching in the market. Further, they do promotion with the help of social media and newspapers. Moreover, in today’s fast-paced world, virtual advertising playes a vital tool for significant and rapid achievement of goals because nowadays most of the people using online platforms for shopping And also this development assists the companies to built strong market networks.
On the contrary, despite having positives , it has negative consequences also. Primarily , excessive use of advertisement can bring drastic outcomes such as wastage of money and also more use of paper for marketing. Moreover, using paper as a form of promotion through newspapers also affects the ecosystem because paper is made up from trees. Excessive use of paper can put a bad impact on forests, causing deforestation.Furthermore, advertisements on social media also give wrong guidance to customers because they do not know about the quality and life of the product. So, in a few cases, the item which they order may be different from what is shown in the advertisement.
To conclude, even though advertising virtually brings some positive outcomes such as built strong network connections its demerits outcomes lead to deforestation and wrong guidance.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The student addresses the prompt by discussing why businesses emphasize new products and offering a balanced view of whether this is a positive or negative development. However, the response misinterprets the specific prompt element regarding advertising that products are 'new' in some way, drifting instead into a general discussion of online versus newspaper advertising. For instance, the second body paragraph discusses virtual advertising and online shopping rather than directly unpacking why novelty is emphasized in marketing. Furthermore, the negative body paragraph shifts focus to paper waste and deforestation, which only loosely relates to the core themes of product advertising. Ideas are presented and supported with examples like newspapers and social media, but the core analysis of the 'newness' aspect remains underdeveloped. Therefore, this performance aligns closely with Band 5.5 descriptors, rounding to 5.5.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into four standard paragraphs: an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, showing an overall structure. Logical organization is attempted, but progression is occasionally hindered by repetitive phrasing and disjointed transitions, such as starting multiple sentences with 'Moreover' or 'First of all'. Cohesive devices are sometimes used mechanically or inaccurately, for example, 'On the contrary, despite having positives , it has negative consequences also.' Referencing is also somewhat unclear in places, such as when pronouns lack distinct antecedents. Paragraphing is present and structurally appropriate for an essay format, but internal coherence falls into the Band 5 category due to repetitive structures and somewhat awkward cohesive links.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student uses a limited but minimally adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including terms like 'globalized', 'contemporary era', and 'deforestation'. However, there are numerous lexical errors, awkward word choices, and incorrect collocations throughout the text, such as 'businesses are usually emphasis on', 'product launching', 'virtual advertising playes a vital tool', and 'demerts outcomes'. Spelling and word-form errors, like 'built' instead of 'build', frequently appear and detract from the quality of the writing. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they noticeably restrict the precision of the response, placing it firmly in the Band 5.0 category.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The student demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, though complex structures are often faulty. Examples of grammatical errors include subject-verb agreement issues ('most of the people using', 'playes a vital tool'), incorrect verb forms ('product launching' instead of 'product launches'), and awkward prepositions or missing words ('paper is made up from trees', 'put a bad impact'). Punctuation is also erratic, with frequent spacing errors around commas and periods. Due to the high frequency of errors across both simple and complex sentences, which occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, the grammar performance meets the criteria for Band 5.0.
