Student answer (Band 4.5)

Nowadays, many businesses usually emphasis that their products are new in some way in their advertising. In my opinion, this will be a negative side why? because consumer attract that new product and they will business Owen making benefit for them.

There are several reason why companies highlight the novelty of their product, because consumer psychology, many people attract the word "NEW" because in any advertising, businessman write word new product the automatically consumer attract on this product. For instance, Lax the famous brand they just change the rape of their soup product and then launch their product and they mansion them in their advertising that this soup will be new in market, Furthermore, people are automatically attack on this product.Another reason that Competitive market pressure, mostly companies are adding word new for their competitors. For example, Samsung launch their product and insist their competitor iPhone launch their new product means just change the color of phone and then launch it.

Although, I believe it is a largely negative development, because mostly people are trust on most famous brand and then if they launch for just because of competitor or making foolish people it is extremely wrong. For example, many of brand they have launch new product because of just their competitor launch the highly good product and in this pressure they will launch this.

In conclusion, businessman just making benefit from their consumer to make old product to new version it is wrong. businessman they will launch product when is it really will be new in this product. moistly people are attached because of they really like their brand.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The student attempts to address both parts of the prompt, discussing why businesses emphasise new products (consumer psychology and competitive pressure) and giving an opinion that this is a negative development. However, the ideas are underdeveloped and the reasoning lacks clarity. For instance, the argument about competition is confusingly illustrated with Samsung and iPhone examples that do not clearly support the core point. Furthermore, the position is sometimes obscured by weak expression and over-generalised claims about tricking consumers. This performance aligns best with the Band 5 descriptor, where the task is addressed, but ideas remain limited and under-developed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

Paragraphing is attempted, with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, but the internal logical flow is frequently disrupted by poor sentence structure and missing links. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or repetitively, such as 'Furthermore', 'Another reason that', and 'Although, I believe'. Referencing is often unclear, leaving the reader struggling to follow the progression of arguments. For example, sentences like 'for just because of competitor or making foolish people it is extremely wrong' lack clear cohesive ties to what preceded them. This reflects Band 4 to 5 characteristics; however, the clear overall attempt at paragraphing pulls it to a 5.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is very basic, repetitive, and often inaccurate. The student frequently misuses word forms, such as 'emphasis' instead of 'emphasise', 'consumer attract' instead of 'consumers are attracted', and 'mansion' instead of 'mention'. Spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable throughout the text, for example 'businessman' used as a plural noun and 'moistly' instead of 'mostly'. While the student attempts to use some topic-related vocabulary like 'advertising', 'consumer', and 'competitor', the control over lexical items is weak, corresponding closely to the Band 4 descriptor.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The text suffers from a very high frequency of grammatical errors, including severe sentence boundary issues, run-on sentences, and missing verbs. Sentences such as 'In my opinion, this will be a negative side why? because consumer attract that new product and they will business Owen making benefit for them' are heavily distorted grammatically and impede comprehension. There is a lack of control over basic verb tenses, word order, and plurals. Complex sentence structures are frequently faulty. This indicates a Band 4 level of grammatical accuracy, where errors are pervasive and often distort meaning.
