Student answer (Band 5.5)
In modern world, business owners and brands introduce several ideas to increase their sell, also they use advertisement to attract more people. Nowadays business owners claim in their advertisement, that their all products are fresh. Now, I am describing the reason and the positive and negative outcome of that trend.
It is noticeable that, business owners and famous brands claim that their products are new, it is because they think that it can increase their sell. For example, nowadays people are more fashion conscious, for that reason they want to buy new and trendy dresses. In addition, fashion brands are aware about public demand, so they make more advertisement and public campaign to told people about their new collection to attract them.
There are many disadvantages of that trend, because shop owner's spread false news and also distract people to buy their favorite cloth. For instance, if public want to buy new dress they mostly rely on shop owners. But in recent time they spread wrong information among the people, that really affect consumers to buy their preferable one. I think people have their right to know about the quality of their products. Moreover, that type of work affect badly to the consumer's.
In conclusion, business owners and brands mainly doing that type of work to increase their business sell. However, that type of wrong massage create negative impact on customers mind and they also learn wrong info. In my opinion, I think business owners should advertise properly to spread the right massage among people, also consumers have their right to buy the best one.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the task, discussing why businesses emphasise new products and offering an opinion on whether this is a positive or negative development. A position is presented, stating that the trend is largely negative due to misinformation and misleading advertisements. However, the ideas are somewhat repetitive and lack deep development or specific, nuanced examples. For instance, the discussion on disadvantages mentions that shop owners spread 'false news' and 'wrong information', but this point remains generalized rather than fully elaborated with concrete examples of marketing tactics. Consequently, the task response aligns well with Band 6 descriptors, as all parts are addressed, but some arguments remain underdeveloped.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear paragraph-by-paragraph structure, including an introduction, body paragraphs addressing reasons and disadvantages, and a conclusion. However, cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or faulty, such as 'Now, I am describing the reason...' and the repetitive use of 'that type of work'. Referencing is not always clear, as seen in phrases like 'Moreover, that type of work affect badly to the consumer's.' Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate different parts of the prompt, but the logical progression between sentences occasionally feels disjointed. This matches the Band 6 descriptor where cohesion is sometimes faulty and referencing is not always clear.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, touching on themes related to advertising and consumerism (e.g., 'fashion conscious', 'public demand', 'advertisement'). However, there are frequent inappropriate word choices and collocations, such as 'increase their sell' instead of 'sales', 'spread false news' instead of 'misleading claims', and 'wrong massage' instead of 'message'. Spelling and morphological errors ('consumer's' with an apostrophe, 'affect' used for 'effect') are also present. These errors do not seriously impede communication, allowing the reader to grasp the main points, which places the vocabulary firmly at Band 5.5 to 6.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting structures like conditional clauses and relative clauses (e.g., 'For instance, if public want to buy new dress they mostly rely on shop owners'). However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('business owners and famous brands claim... it is because they think'), missing plural/singular agreement ('all products are fresh', 'if public want'), and preposition use ('affect badly to the consumer's'). Punctuation is also erratic in places. While these errors occur frequently, they rarely impede overall communication, fulfilling the requirements for Band 5.5.
