Student answer (Band 5.5)

The marketing used by modern businesses emphasizes on the originality of their work. This can be caused by the competition with others and the need to impress the customers. I think it is a positive development because it really shows the efforts that are put to satisfy the buyer.

The business world is very competitive and people need to be amazed. With the rapid social and economic development, business owners found themselves in need of new and most importantly, original ideas that will attract the attention and bring more costumers. Therefore, those who want to lunch a new business, need to show the world the reason why they would buy them. for example, a well-known beauty influencer lunching their beauty line. Their products need to satisfy the sutomers in areas ither products cannot.

I firmly believe this is a good outcome. Where ideas and personalities get copied and stolen, being original is the new luxury. It proves that the company takes the time to listen to its own customers and care for them. While any businesses put products for sale and only worry about the money they generate from it, others sleep at ease at night because they are working with morals and purpose This can be seen in so many clothing industries. If they make tank tops and sell them in countries where the citizens only wear modestly. The company put in efforts and money in order to provide them with covered clothes that suit their beliefs.

in conclusion, the modern advertisement of jobs puts the lights on the originality of products. It is a positive attitude as it demonstrate the company's will to satisfy the clients.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the task, examining why businesses emphasise that their products are new and whether this is a positive or negative development. A clear position is maintained throughout, stating that the trend is a positive one driven by competition and customer satisfaction. The ideas are relevant and supported with explanations and examples, such as the clothing industry example regarding modest wear. However, some arguments remain slightly underdeveloped, such as the beauty influencer example which lacks full elaboration. Therefore, the response aligns well with the Band 6.0 descriptors for Task Achievement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The response is organized into four logical paragraphs that follow a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion structure. Cohesive devices are used to signal progression, such as 'Therefore', 'for example', and 'in conclusion'. However, referencing and transitions are at times mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'reason why they would buy them' and 'While any businesses put products'. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct points, but overall progression and cohesion contain minor faults that place this response firmly at Band 6.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The student displays an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as 'originality', 'luxury', and 'morals and purpose'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, such as 'lunch' instead of 'launch', 'costumers' instead of 'customers', 'ither' instead of 'other', and 'sutomers'. These errors do not impede communication, but they reflect the constraints of Band 6, where vocabulary is sufficient for the task yet marked by recurring mechanical and lexical inaccuracies.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over relative clauses and conditional structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors and awkward phrasings, such as 'emphasizes on the originality' (incorrect preposition), 'efforts that are put to satisfy' (missing prepositional complement), and 'modern advertisement of jobs' (inappropriate vocabulary choice for 'advertising' or 'business'). Punctuation is also occasionally neglected, such as missing capital letters and periods mid-sentence in places. These errors occur frequently but rarely impede overall communication, supporting a Band 5.5 score.
