Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent years, the majority of business corporations focus on the representation of their products as a new and innovative things. This is happening because they want to engage potential customers. I believe, this is a negative development because sometimes people get attracted by things and buy the items that they do not need in real and people can waste their money in this way.
Nowadays, with the help of advertising, business companies are showcasing their products as new on various platforms. This is because these markets attract their buyers to purchase useful things of life. The vast number of customers get to know about different products such as clothes, shoes and digital appliances through good advertisement. In addition, this is the main reason of representation of these items and it is really beneficial for consumerism. For instance, different companies and brands like Prada and Gucci advertise their every product as an innovative and exceptional.
In my prespective, this is a negative development because people may purchase something that they do not need. There are variety of things that customers see on different online websites and they feel anxious to buy those items becuase of their vibrant colours and better presentation. Moreover, it can lead to the waste of money of customers that they can utilize on other useful items like cars. For example, mostly individulas buy things which are not good in actual. they get trapped by advertisements on t.v.
In conclusion, the mostly market workers show their products as new to get good income by customers, i firmly believe that this is negative trend because it can waste people's money.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing why businesses emphasise new products and offering a clear personal position that this is a negative development. The ideas are generally relevant, but the development lacks depth and extension in places. For instance, the reason why businesses advertise newness is explained simply as wanting to engage customers, and the negative aspect is repeated as wasting money without introducing sophisticated counter-arguments or fully exploring broader socio-economic implications. Examples are provided, such as mentioning brands like Prada and Gucci or online websites, but they remain somewhat superficial. This level of task response aligns comfortably with the Band 6 descriptors, where all parts are addressed with relevant ideas, but some parts are under-developed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is divided into four paragraphs with a clear overall arrangement and progression of ideas, moving from introduction to reasons, negative impacts, and conclusion. Cohesive devices are used to signal relationships, such as 'In addition', 'For instance', 'In my prespective', and 'In conclusion'. However, referencing and paragraph internal cohesion can occasionally feel mechanical or awkward, such as starting consecutive sentences with 'This is happening because' and 'This is because'. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to structure the response, but transitions between sentences sometimes lack smoothness, placing this text securely in the Band 6 category.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items and specific industry terminology such as 'corporation', 'consumerism', 'appliances', and 'vibrant colours'. However, there are noticeable lexical inaccuracies, inappropriate word choices, and spelling errors that affect precision. Examples include 'new and innovative things' instead of 'innovations', 'useful things of life', 'mostly individulas', and 'market workers' instead of marketers or retailers. Additionally, there is a spelling error with 'prespective' instead of 'perspective' and 'becuase'. Because the vocabulary is adequate and attempts less common words despite inaccuracies, it warrants a Band 5.5 or 6.0; given the communication remains clear, a Band 6.0 is appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over structure through relative clauses and conditional ideas, such as 'people may purchase something that they do not need'. However, there are frequent grammatical errors and punctuation lapses. Examples include article misuse ('the majority of business corporations focus', 'the mostly market workers'), preposition errors ('waste of money of customers'), run-on or comma-spliced structures ('mostly individulas buy things which are not good in actual. they get trapped'), and missing punctuation. These errors do not generally impede communication, but they occur with sufficient frequency to prevent the essay from reaching a Band 7.
