Student answer (Band 5.0)
In the modern era, advertising of products has been a controversial argument among society. Businesses usually emphasise that their products are new in some way. In my opinion, this is a highly beneficial development, and this essay will discuss the reasons why it should be welcomed.
To begin with, one primary positive development is detailed information. People are easily knows the products by the advertising, It is beneficial for society because of the advertising individuals can collects information without visiting the store this will save their lot of time. Furthermore, some developed companies use lucrative slogans in their advertisements to attract their costumer. Moreover, because of advertising companies can more focus on the quality of the product. Consequently, people can visit their store repeatedly and enhance the costumer experience , also it will helps to boost economic growth.
Another positive aspect is that consumers have access to a wider range of products with different features. In addition, companies now mentioned solutions of daily life problems in their commercial, due to this their products sales was surged in some time. Additionally, some businesses manufacture different item and in large quantity this will creates job opportunities because of this the unemployment rate will this decrease, also people can improve their lifestyle and encourage others to contribute.
In conclusion, although emphasise their new features may have some drawbacks. I firmly believe that this is a highly beneficial development because advertising give wide range verity of products and it encourages innovation and gives consumers more choices and, also it saves costumer time.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing why businesses emphasise new products and giving a clear opinion that this is a positive development. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the student states that people 'collects information without visiting the store' and that this 'saves their lot of time', but these points are not sufficiently extended with specific examples or deep analysis. While a position is presented throughout, the supporting arguments in body paragraphs tend to slip into over-generalised statements rather than well-supported reasoning. Furthermore, the conclusion mentions potential drawbacks ('although emphasise their new features may have some drawbacks') without properly exploring them earlier in the body. Overall, the performance aligns with Band 5.0 as ideas are presented but remain under-developed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, each with a clear purpose, starting with an introduction and ending with a conclusion. However, the progression of ideas is frequently disrupted by mechanical and repetitive use of cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'Moreover', and 'Additionally'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, for example in sentences like 'because of the advertising individuals can collects information without visiting the store this will save their lot of time', which leads to run-on structures. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion within paragraphs is faulty due to abrupt transitions and lack of smooth logical flow. This level of organisation and cohesive control fits the Band 5.0 descriptors, where some overall organisation is present but progression is not always clear.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently revolving around words like 'advertising', 'products', 'development', and 'companies'. There are noticeable word choice and collocation errors throughout the text, such as 'advertising of products has been a controversial argument among society' (instead of 'debate' or 'issue'), 'People are easily knows the products' (grammatical and lexical misuse), and 'costumer' (misspelled as 'costumer' instead of 'customer' multiple times). Attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'lucrative slogans' or 'unemployment rate', show a limited range that is minimally adequate for the task. Because errors are noticeable and vocabulary is constrained, a score of 5.0 is appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but complex structures are frequently faulty. There are persistent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('individuals can collects'), tense inconsistencies ('companies now mentioned solutions... their products sales was surged'), and punctuation errors like comma splices ('People are easily knows the products by the advertising, It is beneficial...'). These frequent errors can cause some difficulty for the reader and obscure meaning. While simple sentences are generally understandable, the high frequency of grammatical inaccuracies prevents the response from reaching a higher band, making Band 5.0 the most accurate reflection of the writer's current control.
