Student answer (Band 5.5)
In this contemporary era, new brands have produced the advertisement of their latest products to reach out to consumer public for increasing their marketing sales. Businesses emphasise their final products to attract more customers and remain competitive in the current market. According to my perspective, this development is positive, as it encourages innovation and provides customers with better choices.
One compelling reason why companies focuses on newness of their products is to attract youngsters. In other words, if organizations improve their products regularly, the younger generation can buy those new stuffs to keep up-to-date; Gen-Z provides valuable and a transparent feedback after using such products that can ultimately lead to better quality, and improvement in the next launched items. For example, many cosmetic brands such as, Nykaa, Coshiq, and Sugar provide influences free tester kits, so that the Instagram influences tried and tested their products and show the genuine result to their viewers, which attracts the number of customers. Therefore, this kind of social media ads may beneficial for buyers from safer and more efficient products.
Another main reason that businesses launch their new products is that it gives consumers better choices for using better products, which are less harmful to them. People have insecurities about using new products, especially when they are trusting new companies; since new products provide alternative to existing products. The perspective of people's own choices matters comes to buying new products of the latest company is a prime example of individual's trust in buying new productions after watching television advertise even there are plenty of option available with same products of luxury brands. Consequently, competition can also encourage companies to improve their services.
In conclusion, businesses mainly emphasise the new aspects of their products because they want to attract consumers and compete successfully. Although this can encourage unnecessary spending, I believe it is overall a positive development because it promotes innovation and gives conusmer better products and greater choices.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task, examining both why businesses emphasise newness in their advertising and offering a clear position that this is a positive development. Ideas are generally extended, such as discussing how targeting younger generations leads to valuable feedback and product improvement. However, some arguments in the body paragraphs suffer from slightly convoluted reasoning and minor lapses in clarity, particularly in the third paragraph regarding consumer insecurities. Examples are provided, such as cosmetic brands providing tester kits, though some expression is slightly awkward. Overall, the task is well addressed, earning a solid Band 6.5.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is divided into four clear paragraphs with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, showing a logical overall arrangement. Cohesive devices such as 'In this contemporary era', 'One compelling reason', 'Another main reason', and 'In conclusion' are used to structure the text effectively. However, referencing and cohesion are sometimes faulty or mechanical, as seen in sentences like 'The perspective of people's own choices matters comes to buying new products...' where the logical link between clauses becomes strained. Paragraphing is used appropriately, but internal cohesion could be smoother. This aligns well with the Band 6.0 descriptors.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as 'contemporary era', 'competitive', 'innovation', and 'transparent feedback'. However, there are noticeable inaccuracies in word choice, collocation, and word forms, such as 'consumer public', 'new stuffs', 'influences free tester kits' (intended as influencer-free or influencer tester kits), 'new productions', and 'television advertise'. Spelling and word-choice errors occur, but they do not seriously impede communication. These characteristics fit comfortably into the Band 6.0 category.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms. The writer attempts complex structures, such as conditional and relative clauses, but these frequently contain grammatical errors or awkward phrasing, such as '...so that the Instagram influences tried and tested their products and show the genuine result...' (tense inconsistency) and '...even there are plenty of option available with same products of luxury brands.' Punctuation and grammatical errors are present throughout, occasionally causing slight difficulty for the reader, though communication is generally maintained. This performance corresponds to a Band 6.0.
