Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, businesses in their advertising usually demostrate that their products are new. There could be several reasons for this aspect. In my opinion, this is a positive development.
The first and foremmost reason is that emphasis of products in better way is quite beneficial for businesses. When they display their goods in more organized way and ensure that their goods are non-competant, it can captivate people's attention at a greater scale. Human nature always seeks things which are different and new. In this way, these advertisements representing quality products are likely to boost up viewers' interest to buy them.
Furthermore, advertisements of such goods helps improve the economical situation of businesses. When a substantial amount of customers will buy these new products, the financial condition of the businesses will be developed. They will grow significantly. This rapid growth encourage other individuals to start small businesses from which they can earn themselves. These small businesses can make progress with the passage of time.
I believe this is a positive development as it fulfills the requirements of people as well as motivates them to start their own businesses.
In conclusion, although adversitements have some negative aspects on individuals, l think its advantages outweigh its drawbacks.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The student addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing why businesses emphasise new products and stating a clear position that this is a positive development. However, the response falls significantly short of the word count requirement, containing only 203 words against the minimum of 250. This under-length impacts the depth and extension of ideas, leaving arguments somewhat undeveloped. For instance, the discussion on economic improvement and small businesses is introduced but lacks fully realised examples. Because the length requirement is not met, a penalty must be applied, placing this criterion at Band 5.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay displays a generally logical arrangement with clear paragraphing, moving from an introduction to body paragraphs discussing business benefits and personal motivations, and finishing with a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'The first and foremost reason', 'Furthermore', and 'In conclusion' are employed to signpost the progression of ideas. However, referencing is sometimes imprecise, and transitions can feel slightly mechanical. Paragraph structure is maintained adequately throughout, though the overall progression is limited by the brevity of the essay. This performance aligns well with Band 6.0 descriptors.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student attempts a range of vocabulary suitable for an academic task, using terms such as 'captivate people's attention', 'economical situation', and 'substantial amount'. However, there are noticeable lexical errors and inappropriate word choices, such as 'demostrate' instead of 'demonstrate', 'non-competant' instead of 'non-competent' or unique, and 'economical situation' where 'economic situation' is required. While the vocabulary is minimally adequate for conveying the core message, these recurring inaccuracies and spelling mistakes restrict the score to Band 5.5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing relative clauses and conditional structures. However, grammatical accuracy is inconsistent. There are several structural and agreement errors, such as 'emphasis of products in better way is quite beneficial', 'advertisements of such goods helps improve' (subject-verb agreement error), and 'rapid growth encourage other individuals'. Punctuation is generally acceptable, but frequent minor slips in grammar and tense selection impact overall precision. This places the response solidly at Band 5.5.
