Student answer (Band 5.0)
in their advers, firms thesedays normally emphasise that their goods are new in some way. i firmly believe that it is a negative develpment.
To begin with, many people now tend to buy unique items because many customers nowadays get bored very easily by their old goods. As a result they more tends to show more interest in items which are different. For instance nowadays companies launch more innovative phones almost every year. due to this many consumers frequently upgrade their phone models in contrast if companies not show any uniqueness in their ads and just launch their products as every other. mankind might ignore the product and not show any interest in it. due to this people spend more frequently by thinking they need to stay with trend and society. morely, they might end up purchasing the same old product with some unnecesary upgrades that most of the users may not even use in their daily life. but because of the marketing that made by company to promote their products atract the audiance.
Furthermore, many profitable organisations started to innovate more to promote their product highlighting these various things. additionally they wants to show them ahead of the market. secondly, with this approach they can eliminate competition. in addition to this they can standout in the market.
in conclusion, many firms do this to market them selves. due to this many people start to talk about new goods or features that has been produced. this might be good for companies but as a customer i strongly against it. because public might spend their hard earned money on unnecessary things.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both why businesses emphasise newness and whether this is a positive or negative development, taking a clear negative stance. The ideas are relevant, such as consumer boredom and the desire to stay on trend, but they are underdeveloped and repetitively phrased, particularly in the body paragraphs. For instance, the explanation of why people buy new phones relies heavily on repetitive reasoning about trends and unnecessary upgrades without deepening the analysis. Furthermore, generalisations are occasionally over-simplified. Overall, the content aligns with a Band 5 or Band 6 descriptor, but due to the lack of fully extended ideas and minor under-development in the support, it sits firmly at Band 5.0.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay demonstrates some organisation with basic cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Furthermore', and 'in conclusion', but progression is hindered by repetitive phrasing and weak paragraph structuring. Paragraphs tend to string ideas together with mechanical links like 'due to this' and 'in addition to this', rather than creating a smooth logical flow. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'market that made by company to promote their products atract the audiance', which disrupts coherence. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion is frequently faulty and repetitive, preventing the response from reaching a higher band. These characteristics correspond directly to the Band 5 descriptors.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited and repetitive, with noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, such as 'advers', 'thesedays', 'develpment', 'atract', 'audiance', 'them selves', and 'wants' instead of 'want'. While the writer attempts some less common vocabulary like 'innovative', 'uniqueness', and 'organisations', the frequent spelling mistakes ('unnecesary', 'standout') and awkward collocations ('spend more frequently', 'marketing that made by company') restrict the lexical range. These errors cause some difficulty for the reader and reflect a standard typical of Band 4.5, rounded to Band 5.0 based on the presence of some minimally adequate functional vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The text displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, consisting mostly of simple and attempted complex sentences that frequently contain errors. Punctuation and capitalisation are largely neglected, as seen in the lack of capital letters at the beginnings of sentences and for the pronoun 'i'. There are frequent grammatical errors in subject-verb agreement and tense consistency, such as 'companies not show', 'they wants', 'features that has been produced', and 'i strongly against it'. These errors are frequent and often cause difficulty for the reader, placing the grammar performance securely within the Band 4 or 5 boundary. Given the attempts at multi-clause sentences, a Band 5 score is appropriate.
