Student answer (Band 5.0)
Advertisement is used by companies to sell their products. They show their product in different way to attract the customers. I have mixed opinion about it which I explain in paragraphs bellow.
On one hand, companies used this method from past to sell their products and they see positive result that is why they do same thing in now days.In addition, they show their products in such way that their products are much more better than the compitetors. They show the specifications of the product in bold words. One benefit of advertisement to customers is that the customer know the specifications of different products without visiting differents shops.
When we see the products on the advertisement we realy attracted by these. All the products showed is such way that this is the best product which is available in the market. Most of the companies spend a large amount of money on advertisement to attract the customers.
On the other hand, it also have some demerits like the companies spend money to improve the product rather than spending money on advertisement. Morever, there are to much adds are showed to people on daily basis that is why the people are not intrested to see the adds. We see the different banners in all streets, roads and on every place which is populated. For example we see different banners in every cricket match. The adds are showed on mobiles after some minutes. Therefore people get bores and did not like it.
To conclude, companies showed their products in some new way through advertisement. I would say that it is beneficial but it is important to have some limit on companies to advertise their products in particular way.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing why businesses emphasise new products and offering an opinion on whether this development is positive or negative. The writer presents a clear position throughout, acknowledging benefits such as informing customers about product specifications and drawbacks like advertisement fatigue. However, the ideas are relatively basic and lack deep extension or fully supported arguments. For example, the explanation of why companies advertise new products relies on simple generalisations rather than detailed economic or psychological insights. It fits comfortably into Band 5, as it addresses all parts of the task, but the development remains limited and somewhat repetitive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay is divided into an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, showing basic organisational structure. Paragraphing is attempted, though paragraph breaks are occasionally awkward, such as splitting the first body paragraph into two separate blocks. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often basic, mechanical, or repetitive (e.g., 'On one hand', 'On the other hand', 'In addition', 'For example'). Progression is sometimes lost due to abrupt transitions and sentences that do not flow smoothly into one another. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, such as 'they see positive result that is why they do same thing in now days'. Overall, the coherence aligns with the Band 5 descriptors.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The student uses a limited but minimally adequate range of vocabulary for the task, with frequent noticeable errors that occasionally cause mild difficulty for the reader. Words and phrases like 'compitetors', 'adds', 'bores', and 'in now days' demonstrate spelling and word-choice issues. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'specifications', 'demerits', and 'beneficial', but inaccurate collocations and word forms (e.g., 'there are to much adds are showed') restrict the lexical score. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the general message, the frequent errors prevent it from reaching a higher band, placing it firmly at Band 5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The essay displays a very limited range of grammatical structures. Most sentences are simple or attempted complex structures that contain frequent errors. Examples of grammatical inaccuracies include 'companies used this method from past', 'they do same thing in now days', 'All the products showed is such way', and 'people get bores and did not like it'. Subject-verb agreement, tense consistency, and passive voice constructions are frequently flawed. These frequent errors cause some difficulty for the reader, although meaning is generally retrievable. This performance is characteristic of Band 4, bordering on Band 5 due to the successful communication of basic ideas.
