Student answer (Band 5.0)

Advertisement is necessary part for improving sale in every type of business and today why in business advertisement schemes the businessman's trying to convince people that his products are advance with different respects. I have mixed opinion about this thought and i will talk about that in the paragraph below.

One the one hand, i think it is probably better that companies shows their product,s advancement in this way we are able to know about the things that are newly added to their product. Secondly, that type of advertisements are particularly effected company sale and also improved companies reputation with respect to making new products. Moreover, some businesses are very popular due to their advertisement techniques because when they make something new the people immediately trying to buy the new thing.

On the contrary, according to my opinion, it is unfair with people because some businesses are very popular due to advertisement and people believe on them blindly and buy new items by inspiring from advertisement weather its quality are not very well. In addition, when companies invest a large amount on advertising and in result, people think that their quality is not considerable so they advertising so much and in this way companies sale decreased significantly.

To put it into a nutshell, businesses attitude towards their products are very new then other are positive with some aspects also negative with some aspects. I think that companies should advertising their new things according to their quality and advancement which they made in things

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt by explaining why businesses emphasise new products and offering a view on whether this is a positive or negative development. The writer establishes a position at the outset stating, 'I have mixed opinion about this thought'. Ideas are presented, such as helping consumers know about new features and raising company reputation, alongside counter-arguments regarding consumer manipulation. However, the development of these ideas remains somewhat superficial and repetitive. For instance, the discussion on advertising costs and decreasing sales in the third paragraph is underdeveloped and slightly confusing. While all parts of the prompt are covered, the depth of reasoning places this response firmly at Band 5.5.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay is divided into four paragraphs, showing a basic attempt at overall organisation. However, the progression of ideas is frequently disrupted by awkward transitions and unclear referencing. Phrases like 'One the one hand, i think it is probably better that companies shows their product,s advancement in this way we are able to know about the things' demonstrate a lack of control over cohesive devices and sentence boundaries, leading to run-on structures. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal logical flow within paragraphs is weak. Pronoun referencing is also occasionally unclear, such as 'when they make something new the people immediately trying to buy the new thing'. Cohesive devices are either missing or inaccurate, resulting in a Band 5.0 performance for this criterion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently relying on simple terms like 'business', 'advertising', 'products', and 'things'. There are several noticeable word choice and collocation errors, such as 'improving sale' instead of 'sales', 'advance' instead of 'advanced', and 'effected company sale' instead of 'affected company sales'. Additionally, spelling and word form errors occur, such as 'weather' instead of 'whether' and 'advertising so much'. The lexical range is minimally adequate to convey the basic message, but the frequent inaccuracies and lack of uncommon lexical items restrict the score to Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response exhibits a very limited range of grammatical structures. The student attempts some complex sentences, but they are frequently faulty and poorly controlled, often resulting in grammatical incoherence, as seen in 'businesses attitude towards their products are very new then other are positive with some aspects also negative with some aspects.' There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement ('companies shows', 'sale decreased'), article usage, and prepositions. Punctuation is also weak, with run-on sentences and missing capitalization (e.g., lowercase 'i'). Because the frequency of errors is high and causes some difficulty for the reader, this warrants a Band 5.0.
