Student answer (Band 5.5)
In contempory times advertising become intigral part of bussiness. Increased competation among the competators inspire busssiness to advertis theire products or services. But some times this practice spread missleading information about products. Emphasing every time that product has some new features or fecilities can be detrimental for product sell and has more negative effects.
Today's customers are witty enough to catch false advertising they do proper research before buying anything. They take help of internet to get knowledge about products before making any final decision. So if any businesses promoting their products by wrong information consumer can easily identify that and avoide such products. This lead to drop in product's sell. For instance in 2025 Lenovo company launch a new laptop by just changing it outer body with older generation but they had not make any improvement in inner components but they promote that laptop as new product. The sell of that perticuler laptop did not match the expecation.
If company has genually invent some new product and do proper research to develop it then company can advertis that product as new. This will help to increase genuine hype about product amoung the customers and can match desire selling targets. Because advertising can be great medium to reach customers and spread information about new products. For example, Apple has just launched their new iphone named Duo, which is advertised as new product. This help bussines to sell their products because it contains some new features like foldable display.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt by discussing why businesses emphasise new features and giving an opinion on whether this is a positive or negative development. However, the position leans heavily towards the negative aspects while briefly acknowledging the positive. Ideas are supported with examples, such as the mention of Lenovo and Apple, though some examples are slightly underdeveloped and speculative. Furthermore, the length requirement was not met as the essay contains 248 words, falling two words short of the 250-word minimum, which leads to a slight penalty under Task Achievement descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay is divided into three paragraphs, including an introduction and two body paragraphs. There is an overall logical progression, moving from the prevalence of advertising and its negative impacts to genuine product innovation. However, paragraphing is underdeveloped due to the lack of a distinct conclusion paragraph, and cohesive devices are somewhat basic or repetitive (e.g., 'So if any businesses', 'For instance', 'For example'). Referencing is mostly clear, but the mechanical nature of transitions limits the score to a solid Band 6.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate to convey the basic message, but it is marred by frequent spelling errors throughout the text (e.g., 'contempory' instead of contemporary, 'intigral' instead of integral, 'bussiness' instead of business, 'competation' instead of competition, 'adversit' instead of advertise, 'fecilities' instead of facilities, 'perticuler' instead of particular). While there are attempts at less common lexical items such as 'detrimental' and 'witty', the high frequency of basic spelling mistakes severely restricts the lexical score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but grammatical accuracy is weak. There are numerous errors in verb tense, subject-verb agreement, and articles (e.g., 'advertising become intigral part', 'company launch a new laptop', 'they had not make any improvement'). Punctuation is also sparse, with run-on sentences lacking appropriate commas or conjunctions. While meaning is generally clear despite the errors, the frequency of basic grammatical inaccuracies places this in the Band 5 category.
