Student answer (Band 5.5)

As significance of advertisment in marketing and financial sector is increasing,so is the way companies are finding ways to promotes their product in new ways to create influence on the minds of people but a question has arisen whether it is benefical or may have detrimental effects. Although, this issue can be examined through two different perspectives in terms of using strategies and how is their impact. I firmly belive that even if product is advertised in this manner it should be done in a balanced way by incorporating its good and bad effects to alert consumers.

Manipulating the minds of customers to distinguish their products from others in market can be termed as a fundamental reason for this development. This can largely be attributed to the fact that many products from different companies usually get introduced iand it becomes difficult for consumers to distingush between them leading to competition in market .From a practical stand point , this means that buisnesses need to emphasize and advertise their product apparently, to illustrate it as a more trustworthy product and with essential qualities .The importance of this consideration becomes particularly apparent when a shampoo company sell their product advertising using labels like newly introduced with vital nutrients which instantly grabs attention of consumers.

Advertisments can create poweful and positive impact but generally products are shown more beneficial than they really are. These kinds of situations can have harmful impact .This stems largely from the fact that often items are made without lookings at its health concerns just for the sake of imprinting a new product .The broader implications of this becomes particulary evident when d a newely safest car in the world is being advertised grabbing attention from all around the world and getting new customers.

Inconclusion, advertisments are introduced as newly maufactured product to make it more appeling and boost their sales , it can create a positive impact but should be done in a balanced way.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing why businesses emphasise new products and offering an opinion on whether this development is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas remains limited and somewhat superficial. For example, the explanation regarding why companies highlight new features mentions competition and consumer confusion, but it lacks well-extended supporting examples. The stance is stated in the introduction, but the progression of arguments is occasionally disjointed, such as the abrupt transition into health concerns and car safety in the third paragraph. Ideas are relevant, yet they are not fully developed or explored with sufficient depth to reach a higher level, placing this response securely at the current band.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay displays some overall organization with a recognizable introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, satisfying basic structural requirements. However, there is a lack of clear overall progression, and the logical flow between ideas is occasionally disrupted by awkward transitions and mechanical cohesive devices. For instance, phrases like 'From a practical stand point' and 'This stems largely from the fact that' are used, but referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly with pronouns like 'their' and 'its' in sentences such as 'without lookings at its health concerns'. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs feels repetitive and sometimes faulty, which prevents the writing from achieving a smoother, more logical progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is minimally adequate to convey basic ideas related to marketing and business advertising. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'detrimental effects', 'manipulating', and 'trustworthy', but these attempts are often marred by noticeable word-choice, word-form, and spelling errors, including 'advertisment', 'benefical', 'belive', 'iand', 'distingush', 'buisnesses', 'appeling', and 'maufactured'. These inaccuracies, along with awkward collocations like 'advertising using labels' and 'newely safest car', cause some difficulty for the reader and reflect a limited vocabulary range that restricts the precision of the argument.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response exhibits a limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on basic patterns alongside attempts at complex sentences that are frequently faulty. There are persistent errors in grammar, punctuation, and articles throughout the text, such as missing commas in compound structures, incorrect verb forms ('without lookings'), and subject-verb agreement issues (e.g., 'advertisments are introduced... it can create'). Punctuation is also problematic, with spacing errors around commas and periods. These frequent errors cause strain and difficulty for the reader, though the core meaning can generally still be deciphered despite the frequent structural inaccuracies.
