Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response responds to the task only minimally, failing to meet the required word count of 250 words, as it stops abruptly at 158 words. While the writer attempts to address both parts of the prompt—why businesses emphasise newness and whether this is positive or negative—the ideas remain extremely limited and underdeveloped. The position is barely articulated in the introduction ("in my point of view there is both benefits one is nagitive one is positive") and is not sustained throughout the essay. The examples provided, such as the cosmetic advertisement causing skin allergies, are undeveloped and lack sufficient explanation to fully support the argument. To improve, the writer must expand the response past the minimum word length, fully explore each part of the prompt with extended explanations, and maintain a clear, well-supported position from start to finish.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

Information and ideas are not arranged coherently, reflecting difficulties with overall structure and progression. Although there are basic attempts to organise the text into paragraphs, the logical flow is frequently disrupted by abrupt transitions and unfinished thoughts, as seen at the end of the text where the final sentence trails off completely ("do laounced o"). Cohesive devices are used very mechanically and inaccurately, such as "To elaborate it" and "For example. recently", failing to create clear semantic links between sentences. Referencing is also problematic, making it hard to follow the writer's line of reasoning. To achieve a higher band, the writer needs to ensure that ideas follow a clear logical progression, use cohesive devices more naturally without repetitive or faulty patterns, apply appropriate paragraphing, and complete every sentence without cutting off mid-thought.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, employing restricted lexical items to discuss advertising and business concepts. There are frequent spelling errors and word choice inaccuracies throughout the text, such as "throught", "eazy", "nagitive", "garanted", "organazations", "markting", "significant" instead of significantly, "launced", and "cosmatic". These numerous lexical errors often strain the reader and obscure the intended meaning. To improve, the writer should focus on expanding their vocabulary range beyond simple everyday words, learning correct word forms and spellings, and ensuring accurate collocations when discussing common topics like marketing and consumer behaviour. Using a dictionary regularly and reviewing spelling rules will help reduce these recurring errors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The grammatical range is very limited, relying primarily on simple sentence structures that are frequently marred by basic structural errors. There are frequent mistakes in subject-verb agreement, verb forms, and tenses, such as "Few companies and dealers has increased" and "today i will discussed both way". The text also contains significant punctuation and article errors, alongside incomplete sentence structures like "for take it garanted some business has develop there income". These frequent errors can distort meaning and make the text difficult to parse. To move up to a higher band, the writer must demonstrate control over basic grammatical structures, ensure correct agreement between subjects and verbs, avoid mixing tenses incorrectly, and practice forming accurate complex sentences with proper punctuation.
