Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, many businesses usually calms that their new products are different from others or their previous models. The reason is to sell more and more of the products to gain profit from it and to make an preeminent impression on consumers.

On one hand, advertising is necessary for businesses to let consumers know about the product. Without any kind of ads, their products will not get any recognition because in today's worlds most of the consumers are attracted towards any new things by the medium of social media or tv ads. For instance, a new toothbrush is launched by a company with eletronic feature and the ads comes up, describing the new feature of it which makes its more ultimate than the ones that are present in market. In addition, people are always looking for different kinds of new products avaliable in the maket. Another reason is that they always check the product's review and how can it benefit them. Businesses target the kind of thing consumers required before presenting them with the products so they directly becomes favorable brands among the consumers.

On the other hand, Nowadays there are hundreds of ads for the same kind of products in which some of them are ultimately more featurized then the original one. Due to this type of compitions, the ads produced by the orignal comany gets ignored. Also, even after a proper emphasised ads, people usually prefer altrenative product rather than the orignal one for cheaper price. So, it is hard to convince people to buy products from a simple advertisement.

As per my perspective, it is a postive development for businesses to grown and acknowledge people about thier products and their benefits and stoping them from getting scamed from fake ones.

In conculsuion, businesses nowadays are correct for emphasising their new products by advertising them But too much of ads will also make people bore and confuse to choose any one brand of their products. It is better to balance both perspective so it can become easy for both business and the consumer.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task, discussing both why businesses emphasise new products and offering a clear perspective on whether this is a positive or negative development. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others. For instance, the reasons behind the advertising trend are touched upon with points like gaining profit and standing out, but the development of these points remains somewhat general. The opinion that it is positive is clearly stated towards the end, though the discussion in the body paragraphs occasionally drifts into secondary issues like competition and consumer choice rather than strictly maintaining focus on the prompt's two core questions. To reach the next level, the ideas would need more thorough extension and consistent exploration throughout the entire essay.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a recognisable introduction, body paragraphs addressing different aspects, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is utilised to separate the contrasting viewpoints, such as when starting the second body paragraph with 'On the other hand'. However, cohesion is at times mechanical or faulty. The referencing is not always clear, and some transitional expressions feel awkward or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'Nowadays'. Cohesive devices are present, but their application lacks the smooth, natural progression required for higher bands. To improve, the writer should ensure that links between sentences and paragraphs guide the reader more fluidly from one point to the next without abrupt shifts.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The writer demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common vocabulary items such as 'preeminent', 'recognition', and 'ultimate'. However, there are numerous noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and word form that cause some difficulty for the reader. Examples include spelling mistakes like 'calms' instead of claims, 'eletronic', 'avaliable', 'maket', 'compitions', 'orignal', 'altrenative', 'postive', 'grown' instead of grow, 'acknowledging' instead of informing, 'stoping', 'conculsuion', and 'bore' instead of bored. Furthermore, some collocations are awkward, such as 'emphasised ads' or 'balanced both perspective'. These lexical shortcomings restrict the score to a limited range where inaccuracies occasionally impede smooth communication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating attempts at subordination and relative clauses, such as in sentences beginning with 'Without any kind of ads...' or containing 'which makes its more ultimate'. However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that can cause difficulty for the reader. Issues include problems with subject-verb agreement and article usage, such as 'the ads comes up', 'makes its more ultimate', 'the kind of thing consumers required', and 'too much of ads will also make people bore and confuse'. Punctuation and word structure within clauses also show instability. To advance, the writer needs to increase the proportion of error-free sentences and gain better control over complex grammatical patterns.
