Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, many businesses shows there products in the unique and new ways. They have the marketing stratagies to sell there products. Such as phones, cars or food. They almost always highlight that the product is "new", "upgraded" or "improved" in some way.

This happen because the peoples are always intrested about the new and unique things as it grab the attension to the products and due to that peoples get to know about the particular product.

Secondly, to beat compititors and looks superior in the market and from the compititors. This is because company want to sell there products more as a priority concern and to get profit more.

Thirdly, to complete the product sales target as it is mandatory tasks for the employers and for the business. every business with products want there products to sell in the good quantity as this is also reason for emphasising products and to convince peoples to buy things they might not actually needs.

Advertising is necessary and mandatory for business to let consumers to know about there busniess and product they sell because it is a key features of any business and a face of it. Many of it uses the traditional method like billbroads and templates but now in the mordern world they uses social media, tv's and websites advertise which help them to grow faster. For example, Colgate tooth paste have a advertisement with this tageline " does your paste have salt".

I think this a positive development only if they are genuine to the customers and for there products. If it failed in consumers requirement then it will get more ignorance then appriciation.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing why businesses emphasise new products and offering an opinion on whether this is positive or negative. However, the ideas remain limited and under-developed. For instance, the reasons provided for why companies use these strategies, such as beating competitors or meeting sales targets, are stated simply without being fully extended or supported with deeper explanation or robust examples. The position is discernible in the final paragraph where the development is deemed positive under certain conditions, but the overall progression of ideas feels somewhat disjointed due to the limited elaboration given to each point.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is some organisation evident in the essay, as the writer attempts to structure the response with separate paragraphs for different reasons. However, there is no clear overall progression linking the sections smoothly. Cohesive devices are used rather inadequately or repetitively, relying heavily on basic sequencing words like 'Secondly' and 'Thirdly' rather than natural transitions. Paragraphing is attempted, but some paragraphs are very short and abrupt, such as the single-sentence paragraphs used to list reasons, which disrupts the flow of the argument and makes the logical progression of ideas difficult to follow throughout the text.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary range is limited but minimally adequate to convey the basic message. The student attempts to use some task-related terms like 'stratagies', 'compititors', and 'advertisement', but noticeable errors in word form, spelling, and word choice frequently occur, such as writing 'shows there products' instead of 'show their products', 'peoples' instead of 'people', and 'billbroads' instead of 'billboards'. These lexical inaccuracies and persistent spelling mistakes create some difficulty for the reader and reflect a restricted vocabulary control that prevents the writing from achieving a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writing displays a limited range of sentence structures, relying mostly on simple sentences or attempts at complex structures that are often faulty and mechanically constructed. There are frequent grammatical errors regarding subject-verb agreement ('businesses shows', 'company want'), pronoun usage ('there products' instead of 'their products'), and missing articles. Punctuation and preposition use within grammatical patterns also show persistent weakness. These frequent errors can cause strain and difficulty for the reader in places, characteristic of a restricted grammatical control where error-free sentences are the exception rather than the rule.
