Many people argue that the ventures used attractive advertisements to influence customers to buy their products. This essay will discuss the reasons for this trend and argue that it is a largely a negative development.

There are two main reason behind business emphasize novelity. The first and foremost reason is competition. The business face a tight competition in the market to attract the customers towards their product. As a result enterprises choose new technique to sell their products and gain high profits. Moreover, there is a psychological reason hide behind this approach. Customers often feel bored with the traditional packaging and product which results that the customer switch to their alternatives. I believe this is a negative development as it put detrimental effects on society and individuals. For people, it promotes materialism and unnecessary spendings. Therefore, people started value less to their available resources and collect non- useful things. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

The response successfully addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both the reasons behind advertising novelties and providing a clear opinion on whether it is a positive or negative development. The position is maintained throughout the essay. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others, which prevents the response from reaching a higher band. For example, while the reasons regarding competition and psychological boredom are introduced, their exploration remains somewhat general. Similarly, the arguments surrounding materialism and environmental impacts are relevant but lack deeper extension and more specific real-world consequences beyond the brief smartphone example. To reach the next level, the writer needs to fully develop every supporting point with richer explanations and more comprehensive examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear progression of ideas from introduction to body paragraphs and conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct points, such as the causes in the second paragraph and the impacts in the third. Cohesion is present, but it is sometimes handled in a mechanical or slightly faulty way, such as with transitions like 'Moreover' and 'Therefore' which occasionally link sentences rigidly rather than establishing a smooth flow. Referencing is generally clear, though minor cohesive slips occur. To achieve a higher level, the writer should employ a wider variety of cohesive devices more flexibly and ensure that transitions connect ideas with greater subtlety and naturalness throughout the text.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The writer demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'detrimental effects', 'materialism', and 'natural habitat'. However, there are noticeable errors in word choice, word form, and collocation that reflect limitations in this area. Examples include 'ventures' instead of businesses or companies, 'business emphasize novelity' containing a spelling error and grammatical mismatch, and phrases like 'hide behind this approach' or 'collect non- useful things'. While these inaccuracies do not seriously impede overall communication, they restrict the lexical score. To progress, the student must refine their word choices and pay closer attention to word formation and spelling accuracy when attempting more sophisticated terminology.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating an attempt at varied structures such as conditional and multi-clause sentences. However, there is a lack of sustained accuracy, with frequent grammatical errors that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. Issues include subject-verb agreement errors ('The business face', 'reason behind business emphasize'), article omissions, awkward prepositional usage, and tense inconsistencies. For instance, phrases like 'it put detrimental effects', 'people started value less', and 'entrepreneurs executing new techniques... demands' highlight issues with verb patterns and sentence construction. To move to a higher band, the writer needs to produce a greater proportion of error-free sentences and exercise tighter control over complex grammatical structures and punctuation.
